Very account 'credit rejected'

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone can help, as I am slightly confused!!
I applied for a VERY catalogue account yesterday and received an email saying I had been approved
'
We are delighted to tell you that your application for a Very Account from Very has been successful. To help you start shopping right away we have given you an initial credit limit of £500.00.
Your new Customer Account Number is: ********. Please remember to quote this if you contact us by phone. When you visit us online you can use either your account number or your email address (together with your password) to log on and enjoy the benefits of shopping online with Very.'
I chose for my order to be delivered to a local store using there impressive Collect + option, which I thought was great as I didnt ahve to wait in for the delivery driver!
I popped out to the shop and my fiance took a call from someone who didn't even state their name or who they were calling from, she explained I had popped out and offered to take a message, which they said no to. Assuming whoever it was would call back....but they didn't.
I tried to call the number back and was given an automated message saying someone tried to call and would call back. Again, they didn't.
I logged on to my account later to find that in the order status it said 'Credit Rejected'
I had obviously gone through a credit check for them to issue the £500 credit limit in the first place, so why take it away? I find it very unfair.
Just wondering if anyone else has had any similar experience as I am baffled!
I emailed them yesterday to ask why, but haven't had a response as of yet.
I might add that my order total was only for £32.00 in the first place!
Thanks, Steve

What exactly did you order?
Chances are you'll be able to find the same items elsewhere for considerably less. Look on the bright side, they may have done you a favour here0 -

Yes, I chose the buy now pay later. It had my credit limit at £500 in the right hand side, just like it confirmed in the email. Until the order status was changed to 'Credit Rejected' and now it reads zero!
In my eyes, it does not make sense.
YoYoY
It was only a pair of jeans for my sisters Birthday next week, it's a new line that is exclusive to Very, so I can't get them anywhere else. Obviously I could just pay by card for them instead, but after their poor service, not sure I want to!

Ok, let me explain, I have a limit of £1200 with £750+ available to spend, yet they wont let me buy now pay later, it always declines....
to make things more weird, I have £1700 limit with Very, up to limit, they let me get two things on buy now pay later, I wouldnt worry about it. Just buy it ouright and pay on montly terms0 -
Something tells me I'm missing something here! Lol! How can I buy it on monthly terms if I don't have a credit limit available anymore!? Lol

The £500 could be a provisional limit until the underwriters look into it further, at which point they decided to decline you.SPC #1813

you do, they just will not allow you to purchase goods on buy now pay later....there is a difference.
the reason they will not allow you to buy now pay later could be based on the fact they do not have enough of an idea on how you will conduct your account0 -
sorry I re-read your post above, I see the credit limit reads zero, if that is the case then it appears after additional checks they have declined your application.0

Lol! I wondered if I was being thick then.
Well I guess that figures that one out... Still think it's an unfair way to do things.
Still wonder why they called me though.... Guess I will await the email explaining why they declined me... If they ever bother to reply
Thank you for your help guys
