Oops the crucial word should have read "Now" instead of "Not"! so basically yes I won.

Hi, yes I got the same response from MBNA myself, so I went directly then to the Financial Ombudsman who took over, last week I received a letter from the FO stating that MBNA will be contacting me shortly with an offer of compensation, so my advice is to contact the FO as soon as you get a rejection letter, as the FO cannot get involved until the customer has contacted the lender first, go for it, I did and will now get compensation for misseling of ppi, I was the same as you no need for ppi as I would have been paid sick pay and redundany pay from the company I was working for at the time.:)

    Brilliant news! Well done!

Could i ask how long it was with the FO please?

    Thanks!

Just thought i'd send an update to this. This morning i emailed the CEO and have recieved an email back allready stating that it will be looked into and someone will get back to me to resolve the matter to our mutual satisfaction.

    SO fingers crossed.

Another good bit of news was that i'd sent a Questionaire to "The loan store" a couple of months ago and hadn't had a reply. I emailed the other day and got a reply yesterday saying they didn't get my Questionairre but as i had PPI they would send me a cheque for the total amout plus interest £408.

I have the bit between my teeth now and i'm going to write to others that i don't have details of the accounts, so i'll ask them to send them on
  • i have also received the standard rejection letter from mbna .i applied for the credit card in 2000 but the response from mbna was that i ticked the box for ppi in 2004 and signed it this was their final response letter and the case was now closed,Do I go straight to fos or do i reply pointing out that I could not sign the application form as it was 4 years later?

Have recieved what appears to be the standard MBNA "final response" regarding my PPI claim. Card was issued in 1997 and as far as i was aware I hadn't ticked box for PPI. Work for NHS so sick benefits and Redundancy would be more than covered. Is it worth trying again with them or emailing CEO or others, or do i just go straight to the Ombudsman now ?

Another quick question is regarding the same with Barclaycard. I received a letter back from them but it asked me to fill in a questionnaire, which is exactly the same as the one i sent them. Is this their standard respnse too, and did they even bother reading what i sent ?

it asked me to fill in a questionnaire, which is exactly the same as the one i sent them.

so much for martin streamlining the process then and banks treating customers fairly :rotfl:
