If they are saying to use a different cleanser, then the first person who did the skin mapping got it wrong! (I assume they are suggesting the medibac one?) Isn't there something in the guarantee about it having to be 'prescribed' by a skin care profesisonal for the guarantee to be effective. Any other dermalogica salons in the area where you could get a free face mapping from? Might be more ammunition to get a full refund.

After this length of time, I'd go for the full refund (if you like the new cleanser, there are places on-line where you can buy cheaper than in the salons, the one I linked to before in Jersey is essentially VAT free)

Thanks, they've actually suggested the special cleansing gel, not the medibac one! Apparently the dermal clay cleanser could be too much for my skin?????

I said in my last post there that my spots were getting better but resorted to using my prescription cream a few nights ago so I suspect that may be the reason. I know I probably shouldnt have used it but I was desparate with it being so painful.

I've just re read the dermalogica email and it states "Dermalogica® always guarantees 100% money back on product purchases to our stockists, should they be dissatisfied for any reason, irrespective of whether the item has been opened or used. We also recommend that they offer the same guarantee to their customers" and "We always refer a customer back to the skin centre from where the product was purchased. This is primarily so that you may be fully refunded for the product. Also, this enables the therapist to advise you about the product and carry out a full Face Mapping® skin analysis with you in order to better analyse the condition of your skin and its requirements."

I need to pop back on thurs so I'm going to ask to speak to the manager then and request a refund because I don't believe I'm getting any better results with this stuff than I was before. The only thing I like and would probably want to keep is the microfoliant, because I do like the feel of my skin after using this.

I think once I've got my refund sorted, I might just source the microfoliant from where you mentioned.

    Thanks again!
  • Also, not sure of any other salons in the area but will have a look, good idea! Yes the guarantee does say about I being 'prescribed' by a trained dermalogica professional - the girl who did it was, all of the people in the salons that use the products have to do the dermalogica training apparently to use the products on customers.

That's weird on the cleansers, I started on the medibac one, moved to dermal clay, and am on special cleansing gel now that the spots are under control (just a few hormonal spots every month that still appear)

    Store locator here:

I do wonder what commission the person who sold you the products was on, £150 is a lot in one go.

The girl actually left a few days after my treatment and believe she didn't part on very good terms. She was actually slating the boss so I can't imagine she would've got her commission after leaving her in the lurch!

I'm just going to ask for my refund on the cleanser, toner and moisturiser because I do love the microfoliant and I imagine it will last a good while.

Just hope to get it sorted without any hassle.
  • Just wanted to post the outcome - got this sorted. Mailed Dermalogica who rang me and said I could either try some different products or take the things back to the salon for a full refund. I decided to get the refund but my salon weren't sure of what they had to do with the goods so I gave them time to sort that out and I'm going tomorrow for my refund.

All in all, Dermalogica were great and my salon were good too although a bit stumped as this was the first refund they'd processed!
