My advice? (And I'm no expert)
Don't lose heart. Eight weeks is nothing - I've just got an offer at 5% below asking in a very tricky position after 6 months!
I only had about 5 viewings in six months.
In any market, you have to get lucky. You have to find a buyer who wants exactly what you have to offer. If they want a different layout, different decor and/or different location, then they are not even potential buyers as they're looking for something that you can't offer.
Is your property still appropriately priced for the locale? If not, then price accordingly.
If so, then stick with it. But I think you need to be patient in the current market.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

My house has been on the market a year tomorrow!!

I've reduced the price once and it's now lower that what I paid for it 4 years ago, not surprised really as I bought just before the bottom fell out of the market - just bad timing/FTB lack of experience etc.....
In the year I've had 5 full viewings, one no show and one cancellation....and an open day on the hottest day in October ever with no visitors
no second viewings, no offers....had a year contract with the EA....
The area here is swamped with properties of a similar size/price and with very few buyers, they have a lot of choice! Every bit of feedback I've had is that they thought the house was lovely but a bit small (one of the reasons I want to move), and the last viewing was more positive, but another house won in the end!!
I bought this house on my own and now want to buy a bigger house in a different location with my partner, we put an offer on a property, which has been accepted and hopefully after sorting out a few issues that have come back from the survey, we should complete soon!
I'll be giving the house sale one last push once we've exchanged/got a date to complete by reducing it some more and advertising that there's no chain. If that doesn't work out in a couple of months I'll try renting and wait a year or two to see if the market picks up. Luckily we can afford to pay both mortgages (although not ideal) and bills whilst there's an overlap.0
