The BOE will ensure that House Prices will NOT CRASH because they will NOT sharpley raise rates e.g from 5% to 10% in one year (only something like this would cause a crash). I am not saying that prices will not fall but a crash will not happen and references to the 90's is totally irrelevant as it is a totally different situation.
What I would suggest is that you folks should all get used to the fact that the day a factory worker can afford to buy a 4 bed house on his wage is now gone (how ridiculous is such a situation anyway?). In my opinion those that did not do well in school and who have not become a successful entreprenaur should not even hope to be able to buy any house whatever the size. e.g Train drivers on £30K, nurses on £25K and especially supermarket check out folks on pennies (again how ridiculous is such a situation). At the same time those claiming benefits should only be given enough money by the state to be able to only live on baked beans on toast everyday. How such folk can afford to buy Burberry clothes, a mobile phone and be able to run a car is completely amazing and in my opinon the thing that is wrong with society.
I agree that house prices cannot continue to rise forever. However, whether at the current levels they are unaffordable by the people who should be allowed to afford them is another question.
First sentence of this post is abit crud,as this is a most excellent site. But the rest of this post I totally agree on.This is coming from someone who earns 15k PA(with a wife and 2 kids(3rd on way)stacking shelves) and can easily afford his terraced house.I don't buy Burberry(why do I need to?) and don't own a mobile phone(why do I need to?).My house is surrounded by a few owner occupiers, but we are sadly outnumbered. The renters don't give a sh*t about the house or area they live in,so quality declines(This is totally in the hands of the local authority who could improve the situation with better policing(subject to better funding, which I wholly support)).Regarding the '90's,we are in a totally different era, emphasised by the medium I'm using now.The Internet.Information is power!
I don't blame the BTLer's as they are only investing money which has been the case for eons(at their own risk!).It's definetly down to some sort of social reform thats going to change things. In an Acapulco hotel:

ukbondraider is well known on the forum for his contrversial posts.
I would like to know though how he plans to purchase a tv or fuel or shopping if we had a population of "Highly educated individuals" The economy would collapse quicker than any BOE rate increase`s if we didnt have manual skilled staff.
In every company / county it is the workers at the bottom that generate the income for those at the top, He may belive he has a right of entitlement but this is just arrogance, Fact is a non professional individual is more likely to find employment in a recession than a high paid city flyer. If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

The problem is that those who live in this country and have not done anything to contribute to society are the ones who think they deserve respect.
How many unemployed people in the UK think they are above cleaning toilets despite having no skills or qualifications. I would hazard a guess and say 100%.
Like I said the average and less than average folk have it too easy.
Totally agree!.We need to redifine the word 'EARN'.I can easily afford the mortgage of a property where I live. And so could many around me if maybe they did'nt spent it on their next fix.
Ukbondraider, we seem to have a perspective of the Top and Bottom end of the market at present and I think posters should take note of this.In an Acapulco hotel:

Those kids who went out playing after school instead of making sacrifices and learning dont deserve fcukall when they grow up. Of course there will be unfair exceptions but in general those who have worked hard will deserve something in their future.
As for Nurses being educated, alot of our nurses simply pursued some courses later on in their life all of which are not on par with that undergone by pharmacists or doctors. True education means doing well and working hard from the start not later in life when you realise you are at a dead end because by then it is too late. As someone who completed Medical Training I know what sacrifices mean and what education means (yes I am a doctor but a doctor who left the medical profession because I couldnt stand the !!!!!! the profession was getting from common people i.e the general public. In fact the general public in my view should be treating doctors like gods simply due to the !!!!!! they have to go through to get where they are).
This country has it too easy for the average folk.
I was going to leave it there after my initial post but you seem to have got my back up today with your arrogant posts. You didn't leave the job because of the response you got from 'common people', you left the job because you couldn't hack it - end of!! A real doctor would have balanced the hassle he/she got with the good that he/she was doing. A real doctor would have risen above it. Real doctors are still being real doctors - you bottled it. Now then, in your opinion the only degrees worth having are from the top 10 universities are they? All the others are worthless (I use the word worthless as opposed to the more 'common' expletif term that your educated self chose to use)are they? Dear dear, how exactly is everybody supposed to fit into the top 10 uni's? How can somebody afford to live in one of these cities and pay the fees (without mummy and daddies help) when they have just left school? Respect is earned and not a right. You give doctors a bad name. If you want to know what sacrifices really mean, then try being a doctor (or nurse) in a third world country.
Right then, i'm off to work now to do another nightshift doing my small bit to keep the country a free (and easy) place to live, so you can carry on exercising your freedom of speech.0 -

What a nasty little elitist snob you are
Education means a lot more than just being fortunate enough to have been sent to a good school, and then a good university. You seem to think that if you didn't get a first from one of the top ten unis then you are worthless. THIS MAKES ME SOOOO ANGRY!!!
So doctors can run hospitals without nurses can they? I'd like to see them try...
And your definition of 'hard work' is all wrong. My parents have worked hard every day of their live since they were 16, and neither of them has a degree. I suppose they are mere plebs to the likes of you. You're saying that their 'hard work' is nothing compared to what poor uni students have to put up with - 2 essays in a week - shocking!! I'm what you might call a late learner - i'm 25 an i'm studying for my English degree with the OU, which I am immensely proud of.
Everyone has a place in this world, whether that means you work in a newsagents your whole life or if you reach the top of your professional career - we're all in this together. I cannot believe that someone can regard hard working 'common people' with such contempt.
Who fixes your boiler when it breaks down? Who empties your bins? Who stocks the shelves of the supermarket (if you deign to enter such a place)? The list goes on and on.
If everyone had a medical degree (as what you seem to be saying is that anyone with less than this is a pice of !!!!!!) and everyone decided that they aren't going to bother with the manual, blue-collar jobs, the county would grind to a halt.
Never mind treating doctors like gods (they do a fantastic job on the whole, but if the only reason they went into medicine is to lord it over people then they're as bad as you), YOU should be treating US like gods for cleaning up your rubbish, fixing your no doubt stupidly expensive car, delivering your mail.0 -
Several cannibals were recently hired by a big corporation. “You are all part of our team now,” said the HR rep during the welcoming briefing. “You get all the usual benefits and you can go to the cafeteria for something to eat, but please don’t eat any of the other employees”. The cannibals promised.
Four weeks later their boss remarked, “You’re all working very hard and I’m satisfied with you. However, one of our secretaries has disappeared. Do any of you know what happened to her?” The cannibals all shook their heads no.
After the boss had left, the leader of the cannibals said to the others, “Which one of you idiots ate the secretary?”
A hand raised hesitantly, to which the leader of the cannibals continued, “You fool! For four weeks we’ve been eating Managers and no one noticed anything, then you had to go and eat the secretary!”0 -
THANK GOODNESS BONDRAIDER IS NO LONGER A DOCTOR IN HOSPITALS, his views, morals and own manner is atrocious. His narrow minded view of all individuals beggars belief that this person was even educated!
One can definitely assume that his nastiness is clearly fuelled by lack of something in his own personal life!! Of course it is obvious why he would be lacking - the bloke is incredibly incompetent of being nice, sane or even just normal.
BTW Bondraider, clear off to Iraq or Afghanistan and do the job you were trained to do. Hopefully that may bring you back down to earth with an almighty bump which is most definitely needed to knock a bit of sense in to you. I am sure the sick or wounded will appreciate your bedside manner when you are tending to them.
To all other MSE readers lets not respond anymore to this thread, BONDRAIDER is not worthy of our time and effort anymore. I think we all agree what a time-wasting pathetic excuse for a human being he is.0 -

err you might want to check your contract again. You might discover that you 're 'buying' a loan and not a house.
Don't want to sound harsh, and I'm not agreeing with the Bondraider dude either.0 -

You speak for yourself - I don't make any errors at all and I can type really fast.
I don't really understand what you are trying to say about people who live in the UK - that we are all uneducated morons who don't deserve a decent place to live. When council houses were sold off, one means of getting decent accommodation at a reasonable price was cut off from many people. Working in a factory or having a degree from Sunderland Polytechnic doesn't mean that you should be living in a high rise flat. You are talking through your a**e and I think you know it.0 -
Mhe, everyone can see ukbr is a !!!!!!. Leave him to wallow in his own filth and get back to the topic at hand. I'm curious why this never appeared in the minutes? Surely something like this should have been minuted? Or do they edit the minutes & remove embarrassing items?"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0
