  • Ever since I can remember my siblings and I fought over frozen yogurts. Now it's my kids fighting over them.

All you have to do is stick ordinary yogurts in the freezer. Very healthy too.

However, some yogurts are better than others. Thicker & Creamier, the better. Our favourites include Yoplait original yogurts (full of fruit) and Petit Filous.

    Yummy!

Note: If you leave your yogurts in the freezer for much more than 24 hrs they can get quite icy so let them stand for about 5/10 mins to soften. However in saying that, it doesn't seem to matter how long they're in there - the kids still love them.

But the best thing of all?

It'll keep your 3 year old busy for at least a good quarter of an hour! lol
Money can't buy you happiness, but it sure helps!

    HOMEMADE FUDGE LOLLIES
250ml/8 fl ozcondensed milk or evap
    110g/4oz light muscovado sugar
    25g/1oz cocoa powder
    275ml/1⁄2 pint milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Put the condensed milk, light muscovado sugar and cocoa powder into a pan and whisk until combined. Heat, stirring all the time to simmering point and simmer for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, then remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Cover and leave until cold, then pour into ice-lolly moulds and freeze until firm.

But I have no ice lolly mold to make them in :( And they're probably expensive and I have nowhere to keep them, so I don't want to buy them either :money: Does anyone have any good suggestions on what I can use?

Have you got any cheap plastic beakers - you know the like the rainbow coloured ikea type? You could make thme in there - beaker full of juice into freezer & when it starts to freeze (slushy stage) stick an old washed lolly stick in the middle & allow to freeze solid.

There is already a thread on HM ice lollys so I am going to merge the 2.
You'll find that your post will be at the end of the thread so all the replies will be before your question, I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of help on there :)
When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt ;)
  • We used to half fill a normal mug with lemonade/ orange squash/ ribena etc and put in the freezer compartment on Friday night.
This would be our Saturday treat whilst watching Sat kids telly.

Not only is it cheap -you have everythig you need already, the fun and skill of scraping it out with a spoon kept us quiet for hours.

If you dont want it all at once, put it back in the freezer and carry on later!!

Call me sad, but last night I made up some ice lollies for my dogs, as the pup isnt eating much, I pureed 2 nectarines and mixed them with fat free live yogurt, froze them in plastic cups and just dropped them into a bowl for them to lick, had a taste before I gave them to the dogs, they were scrummy, they loved them, I made 4, but have decided there too nice for the dogs, the 2 thats left are mine :p
