    I wrote a Q&A on this issue on our website recently because we were getting a lot of similar queries. You may find it useful - it's here.

    Lenders do usually exercise some discretion before registering late payments with the CRAs and I would definitely take this up with the card provider as they will be aware of the recent issues.

    Thank you I will check that out.

    I would have hoped they exercised some discretion but that hasn't happened in this case. As I said, payment was 2 days late and Barclaycard have registered it as late. Once this issue has been sorted out I will be paying the card off and closing the account.

  • I know exactly what you are going through the same thing has happened to me! 2 days late because of an error of a DD! Having rang to make sure it was in place and told it was live then i get a bad credit against me, Outrageous! Lost the chance of my new home due to this an has caused so much distress! You guys with your clever comments get a life. This has totally destroyed me! I have never been late with anything and this is just god dam out of order!
