Getting out of contract
Comments
-
My OH has a Galaxy Nexxus contract with Vodafone. We have recently moved and he now can't get any signal where we live or in the surrounding area. There is still about 12 months left on the contract, is there any way he can get out of it?
ThanksThe network map reports good reception for txt, calls and internet in our area. The sim has been changed twice in case that was the problem but it hasn't made any difference.I would say also go for Sure Signal if you have broadband, I rang them and they agreed to send it out straight away.
If not I'd argue that they are not able to and are not providing the service you are paying for which is a breach of contract, especially as their coverage checker shows that you should have good reception.Maybe you should check what you typed and then what the OP typed and compare both and see what the outcome is.
I will let you work that one out.
Have reread but cannot see your point, please do elaborate.0 -

ok i will.
OP says the followingWe have recently moved and he now can't get any signal where we live or in the surrounding area
the contract was created at the old address so the signal check would have been performed there and the OP's husband would have accepted.
So you saying the following wont work.especially as their coverage checker shows that you should have good reception.0 -

Thanks, but I only said that the coverage checker is saying they should get good signal at their current address and they are not so that will support their complaint of breach. If anything it is you that is infering that OP did the signal check at their original address, they do not mention this.
The way I see it (and have argued successfully once before) is if you are not receiving the service you are paying for, especially for long periods, then the contract is breached.
Should make it clear I am not saying this will definitely get out of the contract but might work.0 -
Surprised Voda Customer Service Rep has not replied to this, OP you may want to add Vodafone to the title0

Try the sim in another phone. If it works, the problems with your phone. If not, the problems with Vodafone and you should be getting a line rental credit for not having signal, it says as much in their terms and conditions. The network map reports good reception for txt, calls and internet in our area. The sim has been changed twice in case that was the problem but it hasn't made any difference.0 -

Call Vodafone. They have a device that connects to your broadband and acts like a micro-cell site. Phone connects to that and transmits the data through your internet connection.0 -

1. You can't get out without paying it off unless Vodafone have a heatstroke and let you off. And it isn't a hot summer. And what compounds your problems is that you moved after the contract was started, as others have written.
2. I am surprised that no one has asked the following question. What networks can you get good reception in your house? I say that as some places are universal black spots.
3. Next time, go sim-only.0 -
why should he get out of it if they moved?
no signal checker guarantees signal indoors so he should have checked it before he movedWhat goes around-comes around0 -

Term of contract is to provide a service which he is not getting, the contract is that they provide a service within the UK and does not mention any specific address.0
