Hi all
I know quite a few of you have chronic conditions, some of you with Fibromyalgia like me and i'm wondering how you cope with it?
Especially Fibro-fog, i'm going through a bad time with it and it's really getting me down
I can't seem to get my head around making a meal plan, shopping list, i keep forgetting things for the kids because i lose the school letters, some days i don't drive because i can't concentrate properly and i'm very very sensitive to noise atm and the general noise and chaos of family life is upsetting me
I can talk on the phone, hang up and have no idea what the person told me. DH is constantly having to repeat things to me and the kids are always whinging for something. I just feel overwhelmed
How do others manage the OS life with chronic conditions? I feel a total failure

Have a day off so ive cleaned up the conervatory, well its the outhouses attahced to the house with a reclaimed clear roof. Hopeing we can afford to insulate the single brick walls so we can use as a dining room. I moved the table and chairs into there today, was an ebay bargain for £20.
Have made one cushion cover for the sofa, looks good from an old jumper!!BSC member 137

Lilmisskitkat - ask anybody on here, my moans when the ME is bad are famous. I'm in such a down spell just now that it's like climbing Everest trying to get out of it again. I write notes - every time I remember something I write it on a list, and tick things off as I do them. I try to do one short one at bedtime for stuff that absolutely has to be done next day. And I try very hard not to stress out about it - life goes on and if I forget things or can't be a$$ed doing things then the world isn't going to stop turning. xxxxxxxxxx sending you love & light & strength pet!0

Even for the fittest of OSer or mum or housewife (apart from a bit of extra padding you understand
) I find that I have so much going on that I need lists, a notice board, newsletters pinned up, post it notes etc. I can't do it all by memory so I hardly expect those of you who struggle to do it by memory either.
DH is dyslexic. His short term memory/concentration is poor. Because he works so hard at work and is committed to what he does, he can't go to sleep at night until he has written everything down. I can see him physically rest easy knowing that he doesn't have to try to remember things.
Please don't feel like a failure. There's a coping strategy with your name on it0 -
Afternoon gang
Sorry to hear about the job issues and health issues, so much bad news around. Hugs to all but I'm afraid theyre floury hugs cos I've just been playing with pastry.
Rubber chicken pie tonight, stretched out with half a pack of bacon, lots of spinach and peas.....going to have mash and cauli with it...yum yum.
I've been patchworking all day, trying to make my eldest a quilt for Christmas, trying to do it when she's not around is hard work as I just want it finished. I made the mistake of wearing a black t-shirt and black leggings today, between the bitty bits of cotton and the flour I look a fright."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Well really can it get any more complicated?! Now DH has an interview on Thursday too, that's 4 interviews this week and poss a 2nd interview on Friday. Crazy. Poor guy is brain-dead from so much prep and lack of sleep too. He's going to be so pleased that we have to spend Saturday cleaning the house ready for my parents coming to stay on Sunday.
BTW I'm not moaning, great to have so much interest in him, hope something finally comes of it!0 -
Oh fingers, toes, arms, legs all crossed here for you Possession hope something comes of it. Whilst a job is a job, if there is one place he is more drawn to it may make sense to be a bit open with them and indicate (if it comes to it and it is true) a firm job offer from somewhere else. Might make them hurry up and make their offer, ESP if he says I would rather work here!
