VJsmum: I know loads of people who get depressed at this time of the year. Me, I love it. I feel I come alive when the hour goes back. I have a theory (among the thousands of others) that the people who don't like Autumn and Winter are the active, energetic ones. The people who get those feelings in the spring are the lazy, comfy ones who like cosiness. I do a good cosy and a rotten active. And by the way, did you not realise that feeling guilty is part of the female psyche? Particularly those who have nothing to feel guilty about. The ones who have plenty to trouble their consciences usually breeze through life smugly certain that that they are perfect.

Fuddle: Don't worry about making a right decision, there usually isn't one. You just have choices, some of which will turn out well and some not so good, but you will never know which is which until you have tried them. Go with your heart and your gut instinct.
What an apology of a man is your LL. Doesn't even have the courage of his convictions. Still, it gives you another choice.

Honestly, what a load of rubbish I talk. Feel free to ignore me.

    Docky: Qok?

  • Hi all, have not posted for a while but do keep dipping in every now and then to see how you all are :). Have caught up on a few pages tonight.
Fuddle I am sure that you will be able to sort this all out. I admire the way you seem to cope with whatever comes your way.
OH and I are both on holiday now and will be decorating the girls bedrooms. With DD1 being at uni DD2 is moving into her room as it is bigger. There is enough paint left over from when they were last decorated to do them again so will only need to buy some white gloss. Have cleared and cleaned the first room ready to start tomorrow.
Made a steak and kidney pie for tea with YS S&K and YS filo pastry. Used the rest of the filo to make an apple tart with a layer of HM blackberry jam underneath the apple. Very cheap but filling.
Nursing a stiff back (hope the decorating will stretch it out) following a car accident a few days ago. Luckily no one was seriously hurt apart from my my car which we think will be written off (it is 15yrs old). The driver that caused the accident had a seizure and crashed into a 4x4 which crashed into us. DD2 had to go to hospital in an ambulance as she has had neck problems since birth and was in pain but luckily is ok.
I am really enjoying the sewing course I have started at college. We have made some very cute makeup bags which I am planning on putting some smellies in for my older neices for christmas. Have just finished a machine sewn applique panel. I am going to make an apron to put it on. Really getting the hang of using the machine now. Have also made a cushion for DD2 from a pair of jeans that no longer fitted her.

Off to wake OH up who is busy snoring on the sofa.

    Keep well

I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

    Hi all -

Fuddle, not surprised you are all over the place! Take your time and you and your OH will make the right decision - have faith in yourself as everyone on here obviously has faith in you! x

Had the most amazing weekend - met some wonderful families and some fabulous other 'wobbly people' - we're all jiggered now - DD was positively zonked in the car on the way home but she didn't go to sleep, that was left to DS and me, thankfully OH was driving - lol. We went to the sealife centre before we came home - they do free entry for a carer (need proof and luckily keep a copy of my CA letter in my purse), the kids were free and OH had a £5 off full price voucher so it was the grand total of a tenner - yay

Scanned a bit to catch up so apologies if I missed anyone and have a lovely virtual hug. X

I realise this may be a very strange question - but does anyone use facebook and if so have they tried to "friend" me today ? I ask as I have an account that I rarely use and somebody has tried to add me, now the account seems a genuine one but its someone in Scotland not local. If its anyone here can you message me so I dont offend anyone by not adding them :)

Despite the surname Kidcat, it wasn't me friend requesting...

Fuddle, whoosh, what a 24 hours you've had. I wonder who your LL spoke to that put him straight on what he should be doing and how much he would be dropping himself in it. Or did he read "House Letting for Dummies" or something....

PAH, what a wonderful post about your gifts and what a privilege to read it. I also love the dog towel. Megacute.

Heavy metal rocker Vassily Meerkat, destined for DGS's 10th birthday, has left the building over three weeks early. My DGS came in unexpectedly, spotted Vassily and his face lit up. I could have said "Put that down, it's not for you" but that's not me.
Vassily will be much loved, I know. DGS and DGD had gone to the football with their Dad and DD spent the whole afternoon with me. Footy was a 1-1 draw, I didn't spot DGS on Match of the Day, which has happened in the past.

This afternoon DD and I went through my wardrobe together and rehomed/charity bagged as appropriate. DD loved some of the things I passed on to her, I know.

I definitely don't need any more clothes, perhaps a coat in 2018... DD also helped me tidy and the house is now spick and span. She knows where everything lives, which is so helpful.

So a good day. A very good day. Even if Vassily has gone...

I have slept and I feel calmer.

In the short term I want to sleep and keep my things in a room that I pay for and heat. That what I want. If he can help with that/do his job then I will use him for the next 2 years 10 months. I say use because our choice is very limited at the moment, we don't have many options and yesterday it felt like we had no options.

My job is here and the girls are happy at their school. We want to stay because of we stay here it takes away all the wonder/what ifs and feelings of despair away from me.

In 2 years 10 months we get our ability to choose back. We'll have a clean credit file and pass credit checks, we'll have proof of 6 years rental been paid perfectly and i'll get to choose where I want to live stress free. :)

I'll simmer down today. I'm hovering in the background ;) x
  • Morning all, Fuddle hope you have a better day.
