Hello everyone, long time no post but I do lurk occasionally - you can get tablets for that
- but thread moves soooo fast for poor slow bonnie
fuddle have a look here
I work for Shelter - only on retail side - but very happy to help in any way I can. Injustice makes me :mad::mad:
I own my own home... just... clinging onto it by the skin of my teeth after a couple of years illness/unemployment... I put up with things, I have to (black mould in kitchen cupboard, dodgy double glazing, no central heating) but I would never expect anyone else to, if they were paying to live here.
Thanks to this thread we are safe, warm, comfortable, fed and shod :A and long may it continue xx*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -
KIDKAT - I love the deer too but the numbers are growing and the damage they do is considerable. We've had to put proper deer fencing around the allotments or everyone (some 50 plots) looses most of what they try to grow. A good friend in the village opens her garden for good causes and last year when she had a Red Cross open afternoon they got in the night before and ate virtually everything that was green. They are getting bolder too and sooner or later I'm certain there will be an accident involving a vehicle as they are around at all hours of the day in the middle of the village. I will learn from this though and not put at the front anything that may attract them in. Cheers Lyn x. P.S Enjoy your breakfast out, well done!0

I've bought chicken maybe 4 times from Aldi and had no problems - but did have to throw away Mr T chicken a few weeks ago.
A nice afternoon at the PILs, but now having to do homework with a 7 yr old who got almost no sleep at Brownie sleepover (and almost no food either!) is doing my head in and she is going to bed now.0 -
I've looked into reporting the LL for the dmp and I'm not going there yet, not until I know I have some where else to go.
Shelter has said "If it is not an emergency, and the disrepair is not dangerous, then before complaining it is important to be aware that certain tenancy agreements can be ended quite easily. Most landlords will fix any disrepair problems as soon as possible, but a few will not, and if you take legal action they can respond by evicting you.
This will depend on what type of tenancy you have – use our tenancy checker to find out more."
I used the tenancy checker and I have a shorthold agreement. He can ask me to leave when ever he likes with only 2 months notice.
I'm not rocking the boat. I'm too scared. I will report it but not until I know I'm ok.
Thank you so much for your advise though. I do appreciate it. I'm just a bit scared to do anything about it at the moment. One thing though, I'm going to use it to my advantage with the council. I've written the damp problem on my application form for social housing so I hope I get a visit to see how bad the problem is. I have all my evidence that i have reported it to LL so it might help bump my grading up.0 -
Sorry not posting a lot, am very tried.
Fuddle, my daughter once complained to the LL about the state of a house she was renting and got a notice to quit  She wouldn't be too hasty to complain again unless the damp was seriously awful. The house she's in currently has damp patches in the bedrooms when it rains, she's just biding her time and looking for a council house.0 -
Alot of you getting rotten meat with a long date on it , this is the reason why , ....... If Supermarkets cant sell foods by sell by date by, they take it back store and re pack with a longer date on,thats why I dont buy supermarket meats..........That !!!! me off when they wont throw it out , so they try another re sale.............
My Tesco just reduce it, up to 90% off some nights. I prefer meat from the butcher but I'm not turning my nose up at a £20 ham for £2 or mince at 20-30p a pound. It goes straight in the feezer when I get home and I never have any problems with it.Val.0 -
fuddle that's outrageous!! I'm almost speechless - I have words but they are BAD...
I guess the 'culprits' are those that make/allow these agreements to stand... Shelter et al can only work within the letter of the law.. so it's back to MPs then...
I don't blame you for sitting tight til you have a better place to go to. Try to remember what goes around comes around... LL will be held to account... karma... xx*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. The problem is bonnie I have no agreement at all. My tenancy agreement ran out 6 months after we first moved in in 2009.It's never been renewed so I have a rolling contract. He can ask me to move out with 2 months notice but the flip side is I can move out with only one months notice as I found out the other day which is ideal when looking for a council house.
It's alright, I feel empowered and in control0 -
