Evening all
I'm not a dog lover but even I went "awwww" at him.
Lots of poorlies about on here, hope everyone is on the mend soon.
Possession - how you feeling today?
I have to admit to going back to bed at 11am, my head touched the pillow and I woke at 1pm feeling refreshed...must have needed it. DH had a bad night and we gave up trying to sleep at 4am and got up.
Won £50 on the premium bonds, first monthly draw since I brought them so very pleased. Half is going into the "living" account, half is going to the mortgage as an overpayment :j
DD1 started her new part time job today, was just an induction on health and safety etc and tomorrow evening she's off to shadow someone for 3 hours. She's getting £6.20 an hour which is fab for a 16 year old and can pick an 8 or 12 hour minimum contract. She wants to see the shift rotas first to fit in around college. We are taking half her money from her each month, half of that will go into savings for when she leaves home, the other bit (1/4) goes towards housekeeping. She's not best pleased but we did explain this is the way of the world and to realise now that the amount on the wage slip isn't all yours to squander is a lesson well learnt. (we will be putting some of that 1/4 into the savings pot too but we won't tell her that yet)
DD2 is currently on the treadmill, she wants to do cross country next month but she has a condition that squishes one of her lungs slightly, I've told her to up her exercise a bit in order to get herself as ready as possible so she's been doing 2k a night, slowly building up the speed. 12 more days until I can begin buying meat again. I've bought the odd few bits and pieces like sausages and a chicken (Aldi and was off. Anyone else had problems with Aldi's chicken?)
I posted earlier and then found there was maintenence being carried out so lost the post:mad:
I wanted to make most use of my bus ticket rather than wasting it(purchased one that lasts a week)so I was in Morrisons, loads of reasonable stuff(Bird's Eye)on offer until Ocober 28th all at £1 mainly half price or in some cases better than but I couldn't buy because of a lack of space in the freezer. Most of it is chicken/fish based, also needs cooking in an oven as opposed to a microwave or on a hob. I will try and create some space either by eating what I have in the freezer or try to put all that I am able into freezer bags.
If I can use only half a box per meal that means my main evening meal comes in around 50p and if I add vegetables etc...I suppose we are talking of approx £1. Is that good for a single person?
Lately Tesco's and ASDA have been offering a kind of stew pack with carrots, onions. parsnip and turnip for £1(and as turnips on their own seem quite expensive that seem reasonable)
Anyone who wants to try the breakfast biscuits by Brivita and Kellogg's but think they are too expensive as I have, when at full price...in recent weeks Tesco's and Sinsbury's have had them on offer...now it is Morrisons turn on offer at half price until October 14th.
The meat tonight I found very expensive(n both Morrisons and ASDA)and in particular chicken and lamb. Pork approx came in the middle and the cheapest meats seem to be turkey and beef."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Well done Lisa;)
I would not have minded but when I came on to post there was no warning the site was down so I guess the decision was made pretty quickly. At least it was sorted in double quick time..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Mar - hope you find some answers soon. Keep on pestering the Drs until they do something. That's what they're paid for. Take care. x
Fuddle - pleased you had such a good day with the autistic boy. It must have been such an amazing feeling as they don't usually have contact with people they don't know well.
MrsLW - your doggie is gorgeous. Can I be his virtual auntie, please? We've never had any doggies in our house because of health issues, but I could spoil him from a distance!

I admit for the last 2 days I havent exactly been at my best so must apologise to stiltwalker as I missed your post re the haybox and it being safe for chicken - so Saving queen its well worth trying chicken or pork as long as your dish is piping hot when it goes in the hay box it will keep its temperature. Thank you stiltwalker, you know what you are talking about so I have no need to go searching
And poor spikey has been leaving messages and they had got lost in the glitch on MSE earlier but have arrived now, thank you hunny.
other than that hugs to all in need due to pulled backs, bruised joints and Me, Fibro - do you think its the miserable weather making every one feel lousy and having flare -ups?Clearing the junk to travel light

Mar...hope that you feel better soon....
Pooky...congratulations on being sensible enough to teach your DD that money doesn't grow on trees...however little my offspring earned as youngsters they had to give some towards their keep, it is very unfair to let them live in cloud cuckoo land in my opinion.
Docky...you are such a beautiful boy, I am glad that your mummy is aware of how lucky she is to have you taking care of her....Mossy says 'Hello' and that he would like to be your friend if that is ok with you.

Morning
DS has THE BUG less said the better.
Yesterday we went to open DS a bank account, well upgrade from child savings to one with a bank card. Was told I wouldn't need ID for him as he was logged on my account with a savings account when I went in on Tuesday. They fibbed and I did so ended up driving back home to fetch some. Passport pic doesn't look like him and they don't give national insurance cards out any more only a letter. Took two hours to sortit would have been easier to tell them he's Polish as they were flying through.
To make matters worse while I was there I checked my bank and the tenants haven't paid their rent again this month. I really can't work them out. They are always buying things for the house and re painting etc but they have often not paid the rent. I'm fed up as I only have £89 in my account now for the mortgage so I will be going over drawn. I don't know if I would have been so mad if I hadn't seen a brand new flat screen TV with sports channel when I went round. Don't get me wrong spend on what you like when you've paid your rent but come on, really ??? Did they think I wouldn't notice grrrrrrrrr
Charity shop morning so hopefully there will be some bargains
