Nightmare smoosh. Sounds like you got to it in the nick of time.
I'll try veg oil, thank youShe didn't warn about over filling the pan with oil but I'm pleased you did. Thanks
P it's the same over and over. It's not fair.
It isn't fair, if they suddenly told me that my diet was going to be restricted, as I love my food, I would hate that too, it is after warmth my luxury.
I used to say over materialistic things as long as Mum and myself were warm, could eat nice food and had each other for company what more was important.
Will check out Gordon Ramsey later and see what he was baking today...
I'm cold in bed tonight, need those thermal socks on...
I've said elsewhere but I know everyone is looking for stocking fillers or ways to keep warm...
Pound Stretcher selling their hot water bottles at £2.49, Small one's ex Woolworth's stock with cover with a Christmas scene on it(Normally £4)selling at £1.49.
Fleece Men's Dressing gowns in Peacocks as well as thermal socks, thermal gloves etc...pretty good prices too...

Possession - Just a suggestion for Mr Possession:-
I went through something similar about 7 or 8 years ago when I had some mental health issues following a bereavement and decided to have a change of direction. I was fairly open about it in interviews and just said that I had re-assessed my priorities and decided that I no longer wanted the high-pressure roles I had previously held. It didn't seem to do me any harm, in fact I think my honesty/openness scored me some points. I was lucky enough to be re-employed fairly quickly (about 6 months I think) in a much less senior role at about half the previous salary but boy, was I happier. Maybe it might be worth Mr Possession saying something along those lines?
Hope this helps.0 -
Bobbykins,
I was wondering if something like the line suggest could be considered...I'm happy that it worked for you."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Well, even I could manage Nigella's recipes if I could afford them and adapt them so they feed one, nothing really complicated. I see now why she gave no warning about the oil going over the pan...she started the chips off in cold oil."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Goodness, what a lot happened on here..
My heart goes out to Softstuff and to others facing such difficulties with loved ones.
Fuddle, as you know, your friend said that to cover her own vast insecurities about the move. (Plus she may well be a Grade 1 b****, I acknowledge) Well done on holding your tongue.
My friend went out to Australia in 1989 and it took her many years of living in substandard accommodation before they got that house with a pool. She and her husband have dual nationality now, and are happily settled but she has had some really tough times.
Apparently it's red -hot over in Q'land -30 degrees - at the moment and rather unpleasant for springtime. My friend's definition of 'unpleasant' differs from mine.
Couldn't believe it when the tax credit notification landed on the mat today. I'm getting slightly less than I expected, as some money is held back in case I earn more than anticipated before next April. It's still going to be very welcome.
I had about 18 months of earning more than I ever earned and in that time, I got a lot done around the house and paid £7000 off the mortgage before re-mortgaging in Feb. Thank goodness I did that as it made a 10 year mortgage affordable even on my reduced wages. Since last October it's all been downhill, but it was nice whilst it lasted.
Hope you are all staying dry. One of my friends has just put on FB that the house she has bought and hasn't quite moved into is leaking like the proverbial sieve -water pouring into kitchen and under front door.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
We're all in it together:p
Good to see some good news Andrea...yes I think things are looking a bit glum.
Well, back to the TV watching using up my unlimited internet time, a full tum(just finished what was in the slow cooker)
Funny I was cold earlier on and now it gets to this time I'm warmer. I'm tempted to get some of the waterproof's on sale at Aldi's/Lidl's but savings are lost trying to get there and back home...they'll probably come around again at our store...
Good to see you:)

But they are not expensive. The Meatzza only expensive ingredient is mozzarella which you could substitute with grated cheddar cheese - maybe less authentic but still tasty. The fries are just chips with a garlic added 20 p a clove and herbs which you can grow yourself in pots for a few pence. Over the years you can accrue stock items like chilli flakes or leave them out. Recipes can be adapted to suit taste and budgets, halved to suit smaller families or single people or in my case doubled or tripled to feed kids and their friends.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Possession he could say he's addressing his work life balance & that is why he's looking for a change.
