Oh no,not at all! I am a realist with dreams:rotfl: - we tend to have grand ideas but soon realise they need bring down to earth!
I wanted to do lots of nice home made stuff like chilli or shepherds pie, but they just don't selling enough quantity to make it worthwhile putting in the effort. So we are just making sure the few things we do are good (and it seems to be working!) and be happy with that!
We have access to lost of fresh fish and crab but I know our market is not right for it.
A lady came back to the van (in a howling gale I might add) to tell us that she and her daughter (who had run a fish and chip shop) though out food was delicious, and that we were doing everything right, tha made us very happy.
And so it should. :T
My MIL told us at the very beginning - keep it simple. We thought we knew better, but we didn't, she was right. Keep it simple and do what you do well.0 -
Not a commercial solution normally but I have a Phillips air fryer with a very small footprint, minimal use of oil ( only one cap full for chips but that's a example only as you wouldn't need it for chips) and great for speed, Not normally fried I know but I dropped my sons croissant in for 1 min this morning on low ( no fat involved ) and it was lovely.
Just an alternative "fryer" idea really.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0 -
The Surprise Box for £1 was pretty good too. Possession, you might be interested in the contents.
Tin of Vanilla Coca-cola
Pack of Weightwatchers wraps.
Box of Ginko herbal tea bags.
Pack of custard creams
Two packs of KP Meanies Pickled Onion snacks.
Pot of Lucky Charms Puffed Oatmeal with Marshmallows
Christmas gift bag with large chocolate Santa plus other novelties,
Two strawberry fruit leather bars
Two mini muffins
Two Fabulous Bakin Boys lemon cupcakes.
Box of Wonka candies
Nine more Cream Eggs. (!)
And...(drumroll) a months supply of Herbal Slimming Patches. :rotfl:
Wasn't at all bad for £1, dontcha think? I like vanilla Coke and most of the rest will go into the kids' packed lunches over the next week or two. I do realise the contents might not be everyone's cup of tea though, Ginko or not.
And my three cats have definately appreciated all the boxes!
Definitely sounds a much better lucky box than mine - much fuller for a start LOL! I particularly like the addition of the slimming patches with all those sweets!0 -
Have just had an AF delivery and very pleased.
Tea bags, coconut milk, banana chips, bulgar wheat, rice, chocolate and sweets, lots of packets of dried onions, gravy mix and best of all value shower gel for about 35p for 300 mls which will do for refilling hand wash bottles if everyone turns their noses up at it as shower gel.
Need to go to hospital this afternoon to find out results of dd's scans on skull, chest and kidney area but nipping to hairdresser first for quick trim as I look like Dulux dog - only much less cute.:o

I'm like a cat on hot bricks today. DIL2B has just gone into labour with what is my next (and probably last) grandchild. So can't think sensibly about anything else.
Sorry, I may be back later when I can make more sense.

Ooh exciting! Seding good labour vibes to her. I'm positive you won't be anything like my dad who phoned the hospital twice when I was having DS!0 -
I've got my first anxiety counselling session on Monday afternoon. It's about an hours walk away from the girls' schools. I don't finish till 2.30pm. I've asked family if they can help out and they said that they're busy. I've asked my neighbour if she can run me back up the hill in her car so I can get to the girls on time and she's kindly said yes, no problem 'dear' she always calls me dear.
As a thank you I would like to bake her some biscuits. The only thing is she's trying to loose weight and is finding it difficult because of her mobility issues. I don't want to risk her loosing her way when she's trying so hard. Any ideas?0 -
Hope all goes well for your DIL2B Monnagran - don't forget to come back and tell us what flavour DGC you get.
Having a very productive day - both kids at nursery today so I have started on the Spring (or should that be Autumn!!!) Clean - totally bottomed the living room so far, just the bookshelves to do then I think I'll get on with some revision before I go and pick the sproglets up. DD probably won't want to come home - it's the norm - me desperately trying to load all her stuff on the pushchair and chasing her round the room while she tries to crawl into the most inaccessible spaces for mummies! She doesn't make a fuss - she's just really matter of fact that she's playing and she wants to stay! She usually crashes when we get home though and dosses around on the rug watching cbeebies.
Enjoy today the cake and hugs for tomorrow.0 -
I'm very lucky in that I have a high tolerance to pain ( dont feel it most times) even labour was bearable until baby number 3 who was forceps and born sideways  I was flat on my back for 3 weeks after that.
I'm totally ok with dentists, smears and poking-arounds. What I cannot stand is this continual total bloody exhaustion and I just gave in and have a doc appt for tomorrow. If I didnt have the RV here chivvying me around I seriously wouldn't get up at all, just stay in bed.
Lisakay I told you you'd be fine :T
We got a fabulous recliner on Gumtree for me - its made in Norway and called a Stressless. Got it for £200, googled and found new they cost £1900. So I'm happy as it came from an old lady and in perfect condition. The new posh leather suite we got was killing my back :rotfl:
Understand re catering businesses and keeping it simple - when I had my big soap websitre I did loads of really beautiful gothic soaps...and everybody just bought skulls and cofffins :mad:0 -
Butter beans always remind me of a dinner we once had at College. It was in the fifties and food was still fairly scarce, but really! Boiled fish, mashed potatoes, butter beans and white sauce followed by rice pudding. All served on white plates it was quite difficult to make out where the food was. Someone must have gone to Catering College to learn how to produce an 'all white' meal.

No they learned it at my primary school - that was Friday's dinner:rotfl:It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
