Possession do you have one of those sewing kits with press studs in? I had the same problem with creeping duvets and in the end I put 4 small press studs in the inside corners of the duvet and this helped. Not so much sewing to do either.
I used the sticky velcro once on my boys room for a blind but it took the plaster off the walls when I removed it
It seems to have got a bit busy here all of a sudden *typical as soon as I sit my bum down* and still have to walk doglet so will catch up again later have a great day all XX0 -
I have a bit of hopeful news. I have been asked to go into school on Thursday to chat about the dinner lady job I applied for.
Fingers crossed for me.

Argh, why on earth didn't I think of press-studs? Yes I'm sure I have some somewhere. Thankyou.
Smiley I've already ordered the stick-on stuff unfortunately and had a dispatch notice. One of those cases where almost as soon as you've pressed the button you think you've probably done the wrong thing. Never mind.
And I too think you're an angel too these boys, especially since they're a bit smelly! I noticed DS first start emitting strange smells last year when he was 9 - must be hormones I think, it wasn't bad hygiene in his case as he was having a bath virtually every night. I posted on another forum about it and got a huge number of responses and some very strange stories for what might be happening with the odd socks he seemed to constantly have on his bed - I'll leave you to work it out! Safe to say, since I was retrieving said socks for the washing, they were not used for the purposes some people thought they were!
Good luck for Thursday Fuddle!0 -
Same for me, nothing more relaxing than pottering in the kitchen or garden. Try explaining it to some people though and they look at you as though you're mad.
You ARE mad, but in the bestest way...

Oh well done Fuddle - everything crossed here!
Possession - I think we might be ok, just checked the HMRC website, you can be self-employed in a partnership - we are not a registered company or anything like that, any liabilities are split between us personally. Got to go to the accts next week so will double check with him! Ta!
 Fridge next door has frozen everything in it - mostly salad stuff, so thats all ruined (might be able to salvage toms / cukes/ peppers to make gazpacho but it just ain't the weather!).
Prob or fault as it is either full of stock or nearly empty, so hard to get the setting right :mad:Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Afternoon All,
All mixed up...signed up with NPower for the gas and electric until October 2013. Get £100 discount annually but only £10 for having paperless billing and doing it all on line(still have a pentalty if if I switch between now and the end of the contract)£30 each for both Gas and electric so will have to stay with them.
Damn standing charges so that will cost me approx £300 before I use any gas or electric so I can see me trying to use as little as possible.
Seems silly having services that you are trying to avoid using...then again I suppose if I get that £100 back it reduces the effect of the standing charges slightly.
33.915p SC for electric daily/42.80p sc for gas daily...
Went to the CAB was advised to look at a smaller property sooner rather than later especially when I put in for Mum's savings and that I can spend it on furniture, carpets, food, holidays etc...rather than just letting it all go to paying rent and council taxes(as when I come into Mum's savings)my benefits cease and if I don't spend it, it will all be lost to paying rent and CT and should I still be here in April the additional Bedroom Tax.
I could spend it on furniture and items for where I am now but if I have to leave everything behind because I cannot afford to live here it's wasted whereas if I spend it doing up the new place...
Yes, the DLA I am on is being phased out after April 2013 but the CAB advisor thinks I will be entitled to something but not sure what until the new rules but again no one knows as PAH it could be less or nothing.
I may fail the assessment and go into the new ESA scheme or JSA but the CAB advisor did say I should not lose a roof over my head and become destitute but he says I should think of looking for something smaller sooner rather than later and before I come into Mum's savings and start spending it on furnishings for the new place. And because it may take time to find a suitable place better to think doing it earlier.
Trouble is I don't want to leave, I like the area and it's near everything and if I am too far away, what I save on the BT I will be paying in taxi and bus fares to get anywhere so may not be better off. If I could be sure my money would stay as it is or close to as it is now, I could stay put and survive, it might be tight but I probably could do it.
But if I ever owe rent I could possibly be made homeless so I may have to go whether I want to or not...
I just hope there is enough room for my CD's PC's, TV, my kitchen gadgets, washer and tumble drier, fridge/freezer possibly some books.
My food store of course I hope it's not a pokey one bedroom flat on the other side of town with no room for anything even if I have to see what's left of Mum's furniture given away.
Budget would be tight but I might be able to afford to stay and absorb the BT but I don't know and especially if the prices continue to rise and my income stays static or I find that certain benefits stop. At this moment in time I can manage.

before I forget, got everything crossed fuddle.....one thing check how much you will lose in Tax Credits as sometimes it doesn't always reduce by same amount and you could lose more, don't want to worry you but don't want you working and ending up with less.....
Well eventually got the double slanket, took ages for the woman to mark it as collected on pc, actual physical getting it took minutes. They had the 1lt kilner type jars for £1.45 so came home with 4 and couldn't resist a deep blue(like a deep royal blue if that makes sense) pair of Jeans with some black pattern on them, should have been £16 and reduced right down to £2 - some had £2 on them others £4 and yet others £8 but they went through at £2 so happy.
Just got a text from Tesco's to say my fold up tripod barbecue will be delivered tomorrow, looking forward to trying that out as well, I wonder if it willl be strong enough to take the Dutch Oven but doubt it.
Still plenty of blue sky but clouds are gathering so going to go and see if any of my blackberry's are out at side of house. Brambles are covered in berries so hopefully will pick some to make jam, but I do love Blackcurrents. I left celery other week to continue growing so will see if it is ready to pick yet.
Hugs and Love to allxxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

pops as you're with the same HA that are around here I can tell you that here there is a bidding system for houses. You apply to the HA/council, they give you a grading and you choose the properties you want to go for. If someone with a greater need (higher grading) bids for the property then they get it.
I would also say that your health and mobility issues would mean you would qualify for a greater need than I would. Give it a try, you might find fine something
You choose

thats all the properties up at the moment https://www.durhamkeyoptions.co.uk/Data/ASPPages/1/43.aspx as you're with a HA already you may be able to go in for a swap0 -
Thanks Fuddle...
I'll keep looking I guess, CAB said I don't have to rush and make my mind up immediately.
I'll be honest this has made me feel pretty depressed and there isn't much to choose from if I stay in my own town. I fear most of what they are advertising takes me quite a way from the area I am used to.
I also don't want to move to another town..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
