PAH:- I cooked mince and dumplings in Big Bertha today. Did the mince in the pan first then into Bertha with Dumplings in. I used the extender ring and cooked it for 20 mins on 200. Checked it and because the dumplings were enormous gave it another 10 mins. Big fluffy delicious dumplings! Chuffed!:D

Delurking to say good-oh on the new thread!

I think most people now see an "incident" as not outside the realms of possibility any more. But you are bound to get the odd mickey taker. Just see it as a bit of entertainment, and carry on prepping.

I for one, will be subscribing, and noting any new tips to add to my existing prep and plans to prep. Tis always a work in progress, no?

Anyway, hi to all, and keep up the good work!

Would you say you definitely need the extender ring to make mince and dumplings? I don't have one :(

It stopped the dumplings burning, (grill effect of halogen light.) But you could cook it in a casserole dish with a lid on for 20 mins to cook the dumplings and then take the lid off for the last ten mins to crisp them up! :)

Bought myself some frying pans and woks(one to use and spares for my store room...)two saucepans and a two hob hot plate just in case the rings on the oven pack up. So one day I may be able to do stir fry...smiley-eatdrink061.gif

I use my wok lots, it's great for scrambled eggs & sauteing veg for sauce.

I'm highly amused by the fact that Eric Idle sang WAY better than all those aging megarockstars!

I slept through it but looked outside and no one is watching all houses in darkness so whether my neighbours watched any of it or gave up towards the end I don't know...
