Wish I'd have read that before using the normal vouchers on frozen food this morning!! Why didn't the checkout woman tell me? I only had frozen stuff to stock the new freezer up .

Hope it helps someone else though, thanks SDG :T

Just back from a little shopping and Ald! currently have cold frames in store and ours has polytunnels too, the frames are £24.99 and the tunnel is £5.99 - I thought it may help someone. I am thinking of picking up a tunnel at least.

Plumber has called and he wont be here until 5pm which puts all the other plans out - but in some ways its a relief as am so tired I really cant be bothered dealing with it yet!

Dog is driving me batty he is shedding so much fur all over the place I cannot keep up.
  • Hi KIDKAT - are you sure they're polytunnels? Ours is 24' long and 12' wide - are they tunnel cloches perhaps? they sometimes have those in Aldi, £5.99 is very little money for a polytunnel ours cost over £200 just for the poly cover - Cheers Lyn x.

POOKY - It's a test!! Get a taxi and make sure he tells them at least twice that he did so! and if poss get a receipt from the taxi drver and wave it under their noses! And meanwhile why not contact your MP and send them a copy of this sheet and ask what they think of it?

Pooky, ring them up and tell them he cannot manage 4 buses, they will send a taxi for you, paid by them or if you make enough fuss tell them they need to send someone to do the assessment at home. it is part of the test - make a fuss and it shows you will not take it lying down. We drove last time but I had to push his chair up and down hills and was exhausted when I got there and had to ask for a drink of water - I wont bl**dy do it again. there is only 1 disabled parking space outside the office ??? They actually watch from the top windows , apparently , to see if you hop skip and jump your way out of the office  Its mentally and physically exhausting so make them aware of Oh's limitations.

Oh bum its raining again and I was just going out

Mrs LW - I am sure they are only small and nothing like the quality etc of yours but I thought as a starter or for a small area they would probably be ok, will have a proper look on Friday when I go back.

A psychology experiment years ago suggests we are programmed to answer "Yes" or "fine" and not make a fuss. For things like the box ticking at ATOS you need to change automatic responses and answer more in the negative.

    This is true.

Nearly thirty years ago my friend had a very disabled teenage son and she was told to claim some sort of disability allowance they had then. She filled in the form and was turned down.

He had no speech and not a lot of understanding and was not safe even to be left alone in a room for longer than it takes to run up to the loo and back as he would find where she had hidden the keys and be out of the house like a shot.

Her health visitor looked at the form because my friend had a copy and realised what happened. My friend was proud of even the tiniest achievements he made so was far too positive. The health visitor filled in another form with the right responses so she got the money.
  • Hi KIDKAT - we were very lucky to get this Polytunnel as we were given the frame by a friend who had restored a boat under it in another friends garden. The house was sold recently so the frame had to be taken down before completion. So it only cost us the poly. I've never had such good results as we have had in the tunnel, it adds weeks to the season at both ends, it's magic. You are right though, anything you can add to help get a crop is worth having, and if it is what I think they have in Aldi it will be darned useful and really good at that price too. Rotten about the washing, I checked mine at 3.30ish and it was dry so I got it in and now we have that horrid persistent drizzle that soaks things in no time so I was lucky! Cheers Lyn xxx.
