Everyone seems to be having a horrible time lately so do you mind if I join in?
Thankfully, me and Owen both have jobs - ok he hates his with a passion but Im lucky I like my little job but we have just been well and truly done over by the council.
I had a letter on Hollys Birthday of all days telling me they were going to file seeking possession of our house as I was £690 in arrears with my rent so thankfully I had card references etc for two transactions each of £330 which they managed to trace up so I figured that was £660 and I would pay the £30 this week to bring myself up to date. Well I went to get a balance before I paid ot be told I still owed £390. My council cant now find the payment for May and because I paid in the office I didnt get a receipt and I paid cash so no proof I paid it! so I have to repay it!
told them yeah its like I have that money in my back pocket at all times and then my council tax payment went missing aswell so thats £107 so I have 28 days to pay off the rent or substancially reduce it and if I dont pay the council tax by the 25th I cant pay in installments anymore and the remaining council tax is £800+
The complete total of what we owe by then will be £390 + £90 + 107 = £587
My housing officer is away this week (23 - 30) and I and Owen get paid on the 31st
So I've been sat listing a few bits on ebay to see if I can get some money together
Owen is paid on the 31st so Im going to pay £360 then and I will pay £180 (£80 of that is money I got for my birthday) and the £100 was what I should have spare this month!
so I will only have £47 to find so Im hoping my stuff sells
To top that rubbish news off - my mum cant afford to feed herself despite working full time so my sister who is 7 months pregnant is feeding her every night, my auntie is struggling as a single mum so she asked my mum to move in with her, my father in law lost his job, my in laws are arguing, owens not talking to his nephew and my insomnia and panic attacks are getting worse and the last week I have had 3/4hrs sleep a night...........which explains why I feel practically brain dead now and the doctor refuses to put me on any form of medication because I have two young children........
Surely things are going to get easier for everyone soonTime to find me again0 -
Sorry couldn't resist taking pics when I saw it in the charity shop yesterday
The dog saga continued this morning when a dog (small brown terrier type) took one look at Womble and legged it out of the gate. The owner was nearly hysterical (as I would be) but luckily the dog had ran home.
Womble hadn't done a thing and never even went near him but this woman usually walks with the the lady and other dog that Womble fell out with. Well, I bet my ears will be burning today although I think I am too soft letting it get to me.
DH is hoovering the car before the MOT, why do people do this? it will either pass or fail no matter how many wrappers are on the floor :rotfl:
I am sick to the back teeth of this government and think I need a couple of days without seeing or hearing anything from the blood sucking ****s
I shall continue to trade my eggs tax free thank you I may even start trading our home made wine but I am sure there is a law about that some where.

SammyK how awful, surely you shouldn't have to pay it again. Can you go higher up, if they lost one payment and found it surely they can accept they lost another, ask who is responsible for "cashing up" on the day you went in and ask to speak to them directly I bet they will suddenly find it.
For that amount of money I would be going up and up until it was sorted and would stop at nothing less than sitting in at closing time with a quilt and pillow.
I hope you get it sorted.0 -
Mardatha, I feel like you we have had rain and mist now for 49 hours.
Its dark, dull and horrible, just a few hours of sunshine would be lovely.
Things just seem to be going from bad to worst with this government, makes you feel like running away.
Hello Esmf
Evie, Enjoy your new kitchen.
I do some bartering with some friends, I knit, look after there homes while they away. in return I get vegs, eggs, HM jam and chutney from the farm.
We also swap clothes and items we have in the home we dont need or want for something we do.
I have had to put the lamp on to type this as its so dark.C.R.A.P. R.O.O.L.Z. Member. 21 Norn Iron deputy h

PIC - other dogs Mummies are always paranoid about their little treasures, I got so fed up with the 'It's all your dogs fault and mine would never be agressive' that I now warn people that Docky is the 'Victor Meldrew' of the dog world and to expect the worse if their 'darlings' come too close. The only time he is a problem is when he's on lead and the other dog is loose, he doesn't like being sniffed! The number of people who say 'Oh thats OK my dog is fine with other dogs' and don't listen when I warn them he'll growl or worse has to be seen to be believed. You find over the years that they only don't listen once!!!!!!!!! Besides - Womble is only doing what a goggie should do and protecting his Mumi isn't he? Have a good day Cheers Lyn and Docky x (who is on the lawn in the sun, on his back with all his long leggies in the air, he looks like a collapsed spider!!)0

Sammy Kaye that's awful, do they not have to give you a receipt for a cash payment? Any way you can show a cash withdrawal of that amount? Not likely I know, but clutching at straws here. Failing that CCTV in their office?0

Paid in chickens
The council here is god awful
There brand new better phone payment system is apparently the best way to pay but that is how I lost the other two payments so would you believe it I had a letter yesterday from them asking me to change my payment method to either
a) use paypoint which takes 5 days
b) direct debit
c) go into the council building itself.
Told them direct debit is impractical as Im paid a different day each month but I could set up a DD from Owens account for the £360 on his payday so at least that is sorted out
and Icant always get to the council offices especially with two small children in tow!Time to find me again0 -

POSSESSION - apparently their CCTV doesnt cover that payment offices :eek::mad::eek: but yet they have me in on that day making a payment of £40 into my other account but they cant find the £330 from that month which I would have made at the same time. Ridiculous!
I have tried going higher but the officer I deal with is the head housing officer and to say she is on her high horse is an understatement.Time to find me again0 -
There is higher than that and I would be saying that it is the same as theft and go to your MP, infact find out when your MP is next having a surgery and go in person with kids in tow and show how much it is getting you down. They will know who is who above the high horse housing officer and I bet they will hurry up and sort it.0
