Fuddle yoghurt ice cream is yummy
just a half pint carton of any yog with a large handful of raspberries or other fruit and some honey to sweeten mix it up and put it in the ice cream maker.
My youngest daughter even gets receipts for any forms she fills in and hands to the council because they "loose" them.0 -
Well the rain has gone and its starting to brighten up.
Funny how it makes you feel better.
Grandma I do the same, or ask for a copy to be stamped with the date on it. As they are always losing paperwork or cant find it.C.R.A.P. R.O.O.L.Z. Member. 21 Norn Iron deputy h

SK - you don't EVER pay anything without getting a receipt!
You should always get one for any money you hand over to anybody. And check it before you leave the office
Thats the thing Mardatha - I have receipts for everything Ive brought before but I think I must of done a handbag swap or something because I cant find this one.
I have all my old pay cheques and I even have the receipt of moneys I paid into the other bank accounts on the same day but just not the one for the rent, I have the one I paid into the other account but not the £330 one and I cant understand why I cant find that one!:mad::mad:
needless to say I have now contacted my MP and have spoken to a different housing officer who seemed much nicer and he is going to look into it again for me - as I'm sure the number I was given for my paying by telephone was wrong so he is going to look into that for me to make sure its not been put in a wrong account again like the other two were.
and I am not the first whos money has gone walk abouts I know of at least another two who have had money disappear and owing letters turn up, and the thing is £690 is two months rent - so why didnt they contact me after 1 month to tell me I was in arrears?Time to find me again0 -
There is something called LETTS - a scheme where people barter their skills- ironing, sewing, plumbing, electrics etc - they sign up and get paid in lettts - then when they want something they pay over the virtual amount they have earned. Someone came to talk about this years ago at a women's group and said it did not affect tax or benefits etc. I googled it a while ago and could solve some problems if enough people from an area, firm etc were to sign up.
Just had half a deivery from AF - seems the first lot has glass jars packed on their sides and things smashed. Same thing with this delivery. I worked out what was missing and e mailed them again pointing out how unsafe their new procedure seemed to be and asking for the goods I had paid for.
Have another order I made the other day and am dreading the result if there are glass containers etc. DH grumbling because I ordered stuff but he shuts up when much cheaper recipes arrive on the table or when I can help out a DD with loads of sauces, spices, pasta etc to take back.
DD is moving around but has not come downstairs to be fussed over after her holiday so will just play things by ear.
Still have two AF jars of korma sauce in cupboard so making chicken and mushroom curry for tonight. Dishwasher is churning away and dds holiday clothes are all out of suitcase, washed and on line outside."This site is addictive!"

FUDDLE - glad the girls enjoyed the flower collecting this morning, how nice of MIL to laminate them when they're all dried, such a nice thing to do for the girls. Hope the snails are fun too. If you have another nice day and want an idea that will keep them occupied both mine loved making a minature garden in a seed tray. They would put their little playmobile/lego people/small dolls out in it. A piece of foil makes a nice pond and they can use bits of hedge/bush for trees. Needs a little bit of guidance as they don't always know what is allowed to be harvested from the garden i.e Runner bean flowers are pretty aren't they? Kept mine amused for hours Cheers Lyn xxx.0

I'm really losing patience having mam in the house now. I need my normal well behaved kids back and I need my space. Having someone commenting on every single thing you do and how it's different from how she would do it is enough to make me flip now.
It'stimes like these when I wish I had my car so I could take her home. I have to wait till 5.30 till DHgets home to take her home.
My eldest has been grounded for 3 nights now, the youngest is in bed and after all the effort I have put into entertaining them. Why? Because they are playing my mam off against me, showing off and being cheeky, all because she is here. I just want to be left alone with my girls and enjoy the holidays. Not long now eh?
Mrs C 5 minute garlic bread is lovely. That was also up for comment, that I do bread weird.... my mam has never made a loaf of bread in her life! Give me strength!0 -
FUDDLE - hang in there -it's only another couple of hours and you've done so well up till now. I get the feeling that at times like these you could be a saint and still get criticized. You know how well you do with all your OS lifestyle living, it is possible that like my Mum - she gets a kick from your reaction to her sniping. Be calm and don't rise to it - she'll not like getting nothing back - she might even stop?
We're all hanging in there with you - and Breathe!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers and Keep your pecker up Lyn xxx.0 -
SK keep at it, letter after letter to named people with date, approximate time and try and find the name of the person who dealt with you
Re AF elona, I stopped getting anything in glass jars after the third broken one, it wasn`t worth the hassle. AF have excellent cs but it takes so long to make the order in the first place that I couldn`t be doing with the risk. I had to refuse the delivery twice and that was the easiest way when stuff was rattling and wet

I went out an hour ago to get shading up for the tomatoes (31 in the shade ) and so glad I made it in march, just had to fling it over the top of supports. Too much intense sun and they can get green shoulder, which is hard bits on the top. I am also watering them twice a day. I have so much psychology in these tomatoes and went to bed reading the excalibur book. They have loads of recipes for dehydrated and powdered tomatoes. I am getting a real buzz from the brilliant dehydrating results and the fact that everything is keeping its colour. The rhubarb, my 5 stick test, dehydrated perfectly in 10 hours so I am more than pleased. LOl, I don`t think I am bottling anything this year, except passata and I can even dry that and then break it into pieces for storing. You can do the same with thick soup ie cook, dehydrate nd break up to store. I can`t believe how much I am learning particularly from the american users0 -

Only a couple of hours to go.
Could you take the kids and her out for a walk - let the kids run round and pretend you can't hear her when she carps on.
Dh is grumbling because dds think it would be nice to all go out as a family at weekend and he would have to be surgically removed from the garden and his shed!!! He is now saying I did not make meals as well 20 years ago as I do now which should be a compliment but he keeps carping on about it. Have good mind to point out with four kids and helping him out with admin as well as refereeing disputes and never knowing when he was due home etc or had already eaten - he is lucky it was not worse.
Fantasising about sticking an apple in his gob as I am fed up. Wonder if I am too old to run away to the circus;)"This site is addictive!"

Its lovely and warm again, can't see the sun for the grey clouds but its all good. We had bits of rain, but no where near as bad as last time.
Just kicked the boys out to the little park, we live right next to the school but at the moment the builders are in so the school field is a bit treacherous. they've already been in saying they bored, they not playing on the wii yet.
I know what you mean Fuddle, my boys do the same in front of people. Its a nightmare, just ignore your mother she's doing it for a attention like mine does.
Just had some bad news, a job we got accepted for has just been cancelled, total nightmare. Apparently they said OH hasn't been in the business long enough so they someone more experienced.:( Five years he's been doing plumbing / gas work so you'd think that would be long enough. I understand the clients concerns but it is devastating especially as people aren't getting any work done due to the economy.
sammy our council did that to me as well a while away. I paid three months worth of CT in one go. I ended up walking into local office and threatening to take them to court. They soon found the money:mad:0
