Boadicea is really fitting and sums up me/my relationship with the trolley and my feelings towards the scoffers. I forgot to mention yesterday that when we went to the coop with it for friend, her little one had a temper tantrum, a bad one. Because of friends bad back I coaxed her daughter out of it and gave a carry and a little chat to distract her... friend was pulling Boadicea and completely fine
She said that because we're young and reasonably pretty-ish that there's no stigma because we're not fighting the age element just yet. I'm not sure I agree but I do think it's got something to do with confidence or lack of, in terms of how we view ourselves in the world and whether we accept social prejudices. Oh fuddle shut up, we're taking about a bag on wheels :rotfl:
DH took the pup to work for a few hours this morning. He's going to go run around the big yard and investigate there. I'm pleased as his claws are getting too long because he gets most of his walks on fields.
Then we're taking the girls round some fish/reptile shops and garden centres to look at the animals. A free day out. It's sunny so going to put up a picnic for them. Egg sandwichespops, I saw an egg slicer in Asda and thought of you. If they're good Imay just be tempted
Then off to get the back garden in ship shape for DD's to play in over the holidays.
Mince cobbler for tea tonight.
Sun is shining here, I think I'll put a long skirt on todayHave a good day everyone

But I enjoy so many types of music...
You can listen to the music and remember the good times with mum and be glad to listen to the music you shared. But it's hard at first...Popperwell wrote: »What a day Spiky,
I'd get upset too. I hate dealing with the DWP...oh how I'd like to be able to have nothing to do with them...I can hope/wish...even if I am only fooling myself...
I have taken to using tinned mushrooms(sliced, whole or creamed)I like fresh but I tend to not get around to using them when fresh...
I've never tried tinned mushrooms - I'll get some next time I'm at the supermarket. Did risotto the other day for DS1 & I on a day when DS2 had had school meals 'cos he doesn't like risotto, & I usually use mushrooms in that but didn't have any so used the end of a pack of frozen peas - not the same.
Usually, when I actually get to speak to a human, they are pleasant and helpful, but it's the ordeal of getting to speak to 1...Psssst, Spiky, don't tell the world and it's wife but the Tax Creds Helpline starts answering calls at 07.45 am, not the advertised 8 am start time. A bit of misc from another life, just don't tell too many people or it'll get busy then, too.;)
Ooh, the excitement when I saw that 7.46am! The message still says they're closed right now (or is the 7.45 only weekdays), so I'll try again when I've posted this0 -
I don't think they open on the weekend TBH, although I'm not 100% sure. Can guess what you'll be doing at 7.45 am on Monday, eh?
Rolled out of my pit feeling lurgy (that time of the month) and with 2 nights of almost no sleep on top of ME and my other probs, feeling less than motivated.
:j Howsomever, there is something strange and uncanny happening outside my window. The sky is an unusual colour, sort of like this and there seems to be a lot of brightness out there...........all a bit disquieting really. Of course, if is isn't raining it does mean that the dadblasted slugs will have to be hunted down in their lairs as they won't be brazenly strolling about in open view.
Soooooo, I shall have a celebratory sausie sandwich for brekkie and drag myself up to the lottie with murder in my heart. Oh, I shelled the peas before tea and ended up with 500g and not a single one of them had larvae in them from the pea moth. That's a first.
Hmmm, wonder what happened? Too wet for the moths? Snails and slugs out-competed the moths? Who can tell?
Happy trails to the travellers and a hopeful and peaceful day to everyone else...............Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

FFion,
I tried to send you an PM to reply to the one you sent me, re the trousers but your not recieving PM's.
Was just to say that I may have some fabric of use? also that cost of postage for 1mtre of fabric will not be that expensive. Nearly all my fabrics come by post. And I send out my goods by post too.
A couple of quid at most.
Sorry its on the forum but your PM's arent working. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

How kind of you but frustrating that the poster canot be contacted, thanks for trying and offering your help..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Making do and mending has been my moto for a very long time. I love to sew, and I recycle so many of our clothes, and those I buy in the Charity Shops. Mind you it is nice to make new things occasionally. But even then the fabric must have been in a sale!.:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Just lost a long post, where do they go?
GQ I have no idea what's happening outside, a blue sky?
VJ's Mum, I hope you that you soon feel better and get that elusive sleep. I'd need a few drinks to relax me to get on a plane, I have not flown yet and don't suppose I'll start now.
Spiky, thanks...soft melodic music I think will always affect me that way, I like many types and have nearly 20,000 tracks on the pc to choose from but as I get older I do seem to like the instrumentals or artists not played as much these days...Sinatra, Fitzgerald, Striesend, Bennett, Matthis and so on. Songs that are not shouted but are sung. Where you hear the words. And yes, why stop listening and cut myself off from something I like.
Few stations play it and now money makes buying CD's is a rare treat but the internet does give access to online stations that play this type of music and yes, as in days gone by you can listen live or record to listen later. And they often still play music I have not heard before.
I did not have broadband when Mum was alive but if I had, she could have heard more andeven watched tv via the laptop. Hope I can keep it going.
Fuddle, have a lovely day...yes the most exciting thing in recent days is an egg slicer, what a life I lead...I may buy that trolley today.
Well, the other day I found for £2 forty medium size bags that you can put fresh or frozen vegetables in, even chicken and fish too. And this means your microwave becomes a steamer. The bags it is claimed cooks everything quicker and uses 75% less energy.
So if I purchase another couple of packets of roasting bags and another of the steam bags, I have enough to last me for the year ahead.

Popperwell I bought a microwave steamer from AM@zon a while back, it cost about £5 but its very efficient and obviously re-useable too.0

Kidcat,
I have a four tier steamer(never used)mainly because I lost the instructions. How stupid is that."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
