Nah, Fuddle - put on a short one
pops worried you won't be able to manage the trolley with your stick. Do you think Argos would let you give it a whirl before you buy?
We're all tickled by the little things pops. The excitement I feel over such tiny things is a bit bizarre.
My electric whisk is working again, it sounds very rattly though. I don't hold much hope for many more uses.0 -
I don't do housework as much as I should but manage a hoover and unless they move me I'm only two streets from the shops so if taken carefully I may be ok...I can stick to the ruck sack for now...no rush...just not pack it so it's really heavy. If I keep on top of the shopping my shopping trips will be small..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Morning all.
Hardley a cloud in sight so off for ashower soon then will risk washing the towels and puttingthem out on the line.
OH had moved thr picnic table in the garage last night to right in front of the freezer and when I lifted two trays of peppers out to bag them up I caught my arm on it and dropped all of the peppers ont the very dirty garage floor. Thats 6 peppers wasted.
Off to a family wedding this afternoon. OH and I are the only representatives from my side of the family due to a flling out between my dad and his brother (the brides father). Looking forward to it and hope the sun keeps shining. Have treated myself to a new black dresswith white spots from TK Max reduced from £80 to £20 and already have a trusty black bag, jacket, shoes and facinator that are well used but still look good.
Have just seen my first cabbagge white butterfly so need to check the netting on my brassicas in the garden, will check the netting on the lottie tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good day. Will catch up with you all tomorrow.
Mrs VPI am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Morning everyone,
Well the sun is out at the moment, so I have all bedding, towels and throws washed and on the line. I have been asked to knit four scarfs for a friend for Christmas presents, so will start them today.
Also this afternoon OH is going to help me clear out a cupboard in the spare room and that will be my storage cupboard for food.I have a few things already to put in it.So that makes me feel better.
When the OH was up in the loft on Thursday he brought some things we had up there from are camping days that we had forgot. Wind-up lantern,wind-up radio, and a Colemans 2-ringed stove still in its box so that was a bonus . All we have to do is get some cannisters of gas and we are set. Also a kettle so might get the one Fuddle put a link up for the other day.C.R.A.P. R.O.O.L.Z. Member. 21 Norn Iron deputy h

Unless, I am forced out by the changes coming, I won't be out in the weather standing at a bus stop by choice...
There are a few others based in Durham county who may be nearer than we realise. Is this coincidence or is it more difficult "Oop North!" They keep saying it when talking about the jobless figures...
The past 2 winters, I've been on steriod tablets for my asthma over Christmas - the first year, I know it was from standing at the bus stop in the cold & wet. I was taking DS2 to breakfast club for 8 am, which meant us leaving for the bus at 7.30, waiting for the bus, get to school & wait for the breakfast club person, me go to another bus stop, wait for the bus, get to work in my damp & cold clothes... Last year, I cut back on the buses & got a taxi to breakfast club if he wasn't getting a lift from 1 of 2 lovely friends, but I was under a lot of stress at work which exacerbated the asthma.
So do not be standing round at bus stops in the cold & wet! & get good waterproofs for when you do need to be out. Layers work pretty well but make sure you get the top layers big enough to go over the top of everything else. L1dl had some waterproof trousers last year (jackets too I think but we'd already got enough) so Adl1 might have them too when it opens?Evening all!
Oh my gosh spiky I am worn out an dstressed out just reading that post, have a nice sit down and chill out this evening! Hugs x
I freeze lots of meat, for use at a later point and buy the frozen chicken breasts rather than fresh as they are much cheaper, as soon as we are better of money wise I promise I will go back to free range but for the minute needs must.
Anything you do pop in the freezer though make sure you label well to save UFOs, Unidentified Frozen Objects!! :rotfl::rotfl:The amount of times Ive used a marker pen to label something only to come across it a few weeks later and the pens rubbed off!
Im planning on doing a huge batch cook of meals to freeze ready for when"Pea" arrives in October, things like lasagnes, chilli, bolognaise and also some crockpot meals that I found on pinterest. Basically you shove all your ingredients into a freezer bag and label it, when your ready for your meal take it out freezer night before and dump it into crockpot, switch it on in morning...............tea ready by teatime. I think even I can manage that in a tired from nightfeed haze!:D
Thank you Pips Mum, I did manage to relax later, and we have sunshine here (at the moment) which makes me feel better.
My tip for when baby comes is to do with clothes for you. When I had DS2, I had a friend come round unexpectedly at 9am, & I still had my jammie top on over a nursing bra & dodgy old jogging trousers as it was cold. Now, a close friend, I'd have said 'Great to see you, snuggle baby while I get dressed!' But she wasn't, so I sat for 2 hours feeling rather uncomfortable. So after that, I made getting some easy to throw on clothes ready for me the night before so I could do the first nappy change of the day, pull clothes on, brush hair & look respectableIt also helps if you're able to get a shower or bath at night so you can dress on auto pilot

Morning all, it's nice day down here in the deep south just a bit of cloud but mostly blue sky. He who knows has pootled off to the lottie to lift the last of the early spuds for me to cook and put in the freezer, I currently have 24 two portion sized bags in and have only boiled them as they are small. If I get any big ones from the Maincrop I'll Jacket Bake them, they reheat very well and I can do a whole oven full at a time, so save fuel later. Popped in the freezer, they last through the winter.
I don't know if its nationwide but our co-op in the village has tins of mandarins in juice for 53p each and an offer on tins of peaches in juice two for £1.20. They are co-op own brand and they are very nice. Have put a couple of each in the store cupboard.
I am hoping for a trip to our nice farm shop later on as I haven't been for a while and they do herbs and spices by the ounce so I am hoping to stock up a bit as am low on a few things.
I am making potato wedges for lunch using the last of the new potatoes from the polytunnel, they are a good size and am currently making a RedBean, Chilli and Cheese topping to go with them.
Have a good day everyone Cheers Lyn x.0 -
give me the name of a really strong woman.. dolly or polly rhymes with trolley but my trolley symbolises summat a bit defiant, summat a bit strong willed
Boudicca/Boadicea? She was most definitely defiant and strong willed!
ETA Oops, see someone got there before me. Great minds etc...0 -
Hello everyone and (((hugs))) as always to those in need.
Fuddle- Boadicea/Boudicca sounds like a great name for your trolley, it gets my vote too!
Pops/Mcculloch - how funny that you are in the same town! It's weird to think that we could be walking past another OSer in the street and not know it. There do seem to be a lot of folk from northern climes on here - either that means you lot are cannier than the southerners or it really is grimmer up north. I'm in the middle so I'm not sure what that makes me...!
The Great Kitchen Clearout continues in full force today; the only trouble with all this OS business is that I have an insanely crowded kitchen; I've just discovered another seam of home made preserves which need to be checked (some are a little elderly!) and packed up if they are OK. I also have an enormous stash of empty jars on top of all my cupboards and they will have to come down and be stored somewhere too - I just can't bring myself to get rid of a jar. 'Tis a failing of mine. I've run out of boxes now too so am just stacking as best I can in the dining room. I am just hoping the new cupboards are sufficiently capacious to accommodate all this carp when the time comes to put it all back again!
Once I've finished with the kitchen I need to tackle DD2's bedroom, a.k.a. the Room of Doom. Typically, the electrician is going to need to drill through from her room () down into the kitchen to run some cables so I need to clear the decks there too. I may be some time...:rotfl:
