I've got a onsie - it's lusciously warm and toastie but for indoor use only for me.
My eldest went with friends to a big concert in London last summer and all the boys went wearing theirs, they all stayed over with us and I was very amused to see they'd all brought spare onsies for the next day but hadn't brought any clean pants!!! Those are fine if they are for INDOOR! I would never be seen in one of them outside my house (unless it's an emergency of course
)
Funnily enough, I want one too Fuddle, but the husband isn't very fond of them :rotfl:
If we carry on like this I'll be wanting one...I bet they keep you warm...

AF must make some stock of money out of MSE users...I would buy but they never have to have anything I use...
Tesco's have that balsamic rice at £7 for 5kg or £10 for 10kg. On introductorary offer Yum Olive Spread or Buttery Spread(500g)for £1."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I told you that Wilkinsons do 10 roasting bags for £1.13 Tonight Tesco's had 8 by Baco foil and they cost almost £3!
However 40 steam bags for microwaves £2...
I was going to buy skewers to test when my chicken is cooked but I don't need them otherwise and so I'll use a cocktail stick:p"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Pops you do make me laugh, are you sure it's balsamic rice and not basmati
kicking myself though as bought 500g bag in shop. I'm so used to having a weekly shopping budget that I find it difficult to buy in bulk even though it works out cheaper.
On phon and can't remember who it was that was havi g problems with sisters, negativity and Facebook. Same here. Chip, chip, chip away all the time. One minute I'm a stingy coo the next Im wasting the bit money I have.
Tesco prices have my eyes bulging in horror so much now. Something's are on par with the coop, price wise. I saw orange sticker haddock for 99p in cool tonight though but didn't buy as its not on the meal plan. I'm kickin myself for not picking up a bargain but also pleased I didn't impulse buy a bargain that I didnt need0 -

Popperwell, I doubt that you'd ever see horse carrots in the supermarket; they tend to be much bigger than "normal" ones, and still covered in mud. I'd say there's less waste, as there's less skin per carrot, if you know what I mean. Sometimes they're a bit tough & woody, but mostly they're fine. I can see that many households would struggle to use 25kg up before they dried up or went mouldy, but there's an informal group of households in our road who share stuff when we can't use it all ourselves, so I can always rehome stuff I might not otherwise be able to use up quickly enough.
Spikyhedgehog, several of mine were rather on the late side when it came to being dry at night; I well remember having to be home by 11pm each & every rare night out, to get DD1 up & "pot" her until she was too heavy for me to carry, at about 5! We did try the alarms from the enuresis clinic with the older boys, but didn't find them much help; however I'm delighted to say that they did all grow out of it eventually. I think it runs in families; I still have to get up at least once every night myself, and always have; I don't think my system "switches off" at night like other people's do. (Sorry if that's TMI! ) And none of us are great sleepers and all but one of the kids have been through the "nocturnal teenager" phase. But on a practical level, waterproof mattress covers & old towels under (or on top of, but they wrinkle up) the sheets, and a BIG washing machine (and a tumble drier for real emergencies) helped me cope better. As did finding out that I wasn't alone, and that although it's hardly a subject of everyday conversation, many children aren't reliably dry 'til 7 or 8.
Anyway, must get on with everyday life - time to raid the freezer & see what I can dredge up for tonight's tea! {Hugs} to all in need of them, for whatever reason.
My washing machine is an ordinary size one, but mummy & daddy's 'cross town is a big'un so if needed I get on the mummy phone... My dryer is a mini one, but I've no where to put a bigger 1, and the washer dryer at work is pants, which puts me off changing to one of them.
He'd had a bit of teasing at the weekend at Cub camp as he'd wet there, but nothing tonight when they went swimming (I was walking to the pool, imagining all the comments 'Ooh, here comes Spiky's son, he'll be wet before we get in the pool', etc) & a mum of 1 of the other Cubs had said her DS still wets sometimes. (He wasn't a teaser.)I can't really get my head around twitter...I did have another foray with the Save Lennox thing, but really not my cup of tea.
I'm struggling today. REALLY struggling. Mentally and physically.
I've got to sort out my books for the B&B/tax/tax credits, that sort of stuff. Done the B&B books for last year...and discovered, that because of the tax year being April, I've only actually HAD three customers this year!!! and only two more booked to come at the end July/beg August, that is really dire... last year April to April we had 25!!!! I will have scarcely covered the insurance and advertising cost by the time they have beenMakes you wonder if we should just give up?
I've got to get my head around more figures now. Not my greatest skill at the best of times. My house is such a tip, and it's raining again. I have so many things to do that I don't want to, and so many things I'd RATHER do...that I can't at the moment...That's all!
Kate
Oh crumbs, Kate. The weather is just affecting everyone so much.I have twitter but don't talk on it, just use it to keep an eye on things and people I like.
The thing about twitter and the hashtag is the immediate knowing of what is happening... like when I was watching the oxford V cambridge boat race on TV this year. There was a lot of kerfuffle and as a viewer I didn't get what was happening, checked twitter and found out why it was stopped straight away.
Another batch of Mrs C's 5 min bread in and it's looking much better. Pizza also in for the kids tea.
Malt loaf. The coop have soreen malt loaf on for 50p. My kids adore the stuff. If I bought a few packs at that price and froze it would it freeze/defrost ok?
DD managed very well in her performance and the yellow clothes made by moi held up well
Ozpig. I think I'm in awe of what she can do. Mine, when I get one, will be a she because she's obviously a trooper. I have her home plotted out, along with my bench and table being repositioned. We were planning on getting a BBQ and a chimnea so this would do both. It may be cheaper... may not though as I would like a kettle and cast iron pan too
Can you burn recycled paper and card on the ozpig?
I've frozen loaves of malt loaf before & it's fine. My tip for picnics is to cut & butter & freeze, then pull out ready frozen so it stays nice & cool for the day...0 -
Have managed to get all of the kitchen cupboards under the counter top emptied cleaned and sorted. Have sorted out a set of saucepans, microwave rice cooker, measuring jug and a couple of lidded casserole dishes for DD1 ready for uni. The pan cupboard is looking much better now it has been thinned out and it has saved me having to buy them for her and she is very pleased with them. Have also made a good start on her room and have sorted out lots of good craft kits, colouring books and some playdough. These have all gone to my mums tonight so that she can keep them at her house to keep the younger grand children entertained.
Visited nanna in her care home tonight. Everyone there has dementia and boy were they on top form, arguements were breaking out everywhere.
Managed to pick up 10 ys ciabatta rolls for £1 in Sainsbugs so had cheese and onion toasties for tea - cheap and cheerful.
Will sow some more carrotts tomorrow.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

That will be it! I wasn't sure:D I'd never get through it. I bought a microwave sweet and sour chicken meal for 95p I couldn't make it any cheaper."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Poperwell thank you for the list you sent me much much appreciated.
Today at work the big bosses had the Jobcentre folkies in to tell us all about life on the dole:mad::mad: seems single lady of ahem years with not a lot of savings aka moi will receive the grand sum of £67 odd a week to live on, only for 26 weeks then I migrate on to Income Support:o:o.
Trying to work out how to feed and clothe myself, pay water rates, contents insurance, gas and electric, tv licence and run my small trusty banger on that amount, thank goodness i have no debts to pay out on, grateful for a £250 overdraft safety buffer zone and that they allow you to have some savings in the bank before stopping of any help.
Thank goodness I qualify for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit, or else Id be on the streets , and my decision to exchange to a one bedroomed bungalow seems a good one in light of the proposed bedroom tax.
My little bungalow has double glazing, been recently cavity wall insulated and new kitchen and combi boiler so I will be snug in there, well if I can afford to turn the central heating on that is:(
As expected they started to pile the work of the folk they let go straight away onto the ones left behind, till I got a headache
and got a horrendous cough:p and they told me to go home, fully intend to have the rest :pof the week off, I mean this stress of the unemployment news has made me bad...sod em let the lazy slackers do the work Im past loyalty anymore.
I will have enough redundancy money to get my little banger taxed for the year, an extra undercounter freezer for Survivor rations and treat myself to some paint etc then its belt tightening and batterning down the hatches and have some ME time for a while...I dont feel guilty about throwing a sickie in 3 years I have had no time off...so am going to have a lie in and get up late:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Am off to fine tune Popperwells list he sent me, so have a good night all, see you tommorow
x:eek::eek: How much?? You have got to be joking!!!!!:eek::eek:0
