Going to have another go at cooking a chicken in the slow cooker...so do you think I should see if I can cook it not as long so it doesn't fall apart?:rotfl:
Last time it was on 8 hours, should I try 4 hours?"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

There are different types of cling film as you probably know. Some just wrap food etc...but there is one that you can actually use in a microwave too so it does more than just wrap food.
And guess what...Tesco's have that kind and it i actually cheaper than some of the more well known brands...
Poundland do a container and cutter for clingfilm and tinfoil,I have two one blue and one red, really work well and I find I can use the cheap clingfilm and tinfoil with them, I get 10 clingfilm and 5 tinfoil on my local carboot for a pound each.Slimming World at target0 -
Just got the Lakeland catalogue thingy and it is full of making and baking , including making your own soft cheese.A book and a couple of moulds and veggie rennet(the stuff to make it set a bit).
Anyone tried it?0 -

Well I did 8 hours on low orginally so you reckon I should try high...wonder if it makes much difference to the energy used.
I'll give that a try, if I don't make my own chicken stock this time I'll use the stock cubes etc...I have in the cupboard this time...thanks:)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

They are cooked but once I have used the chicken I have some cooked chicken thighs(8 for £2.50)They can be eaten cold or heated in an oven or microwave but I may stick a few in the slow cooker with some stock mushrooms, vegetables etc...and what I can come up with...any ideas?
I could use a packet of mix I have that says it make a Coq au Vin kind of meal but as always these mixes are meant usually for a family of four so I suppose some will be wasted.
As they are cooked already perhaps I don't need them in the slow cooker as long or I wonder if I should put the chicken thighs in the micro(heated in minutes)and make the vegetable and mushrooms with mix into a saucepan and do it on a hob?"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. pops the chicken could well be ready before 4 hours. I just left mine going and going until DH came in. Stick a skewer or fork in the leg join, if the juices run clear then it's done (sorry if I am teaching a [STRIKE]granny[/STRIKE]pops how to suck eggs)0

That's what I need, I am still learning. As long as you don't become tired of my questions;)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Popper well personally I would fry off the veg to soften them a little, add in the sauce and simmer it on a low heat on the hob for a while. Then add in the chicken thighs for 10-15 minutes to warm them through and so they soak up some flavour from the sauce.
You can eat one portion for dinner, put one in the fridge for tomorrow or the day after and then freeze two more in pots and pop into a saucepan or into the microwave to heat them when you want.
Hope that helps
Life continues as normal here. I am heartily sick of video games already and if I could drive I would be booking myself in for a break katieowl I can bring my own cake if that helps.
I accidentally put in too much yeast when making the pizza dough, so have added extra liquid, halved it and added it to bread flour. That dough is now in the fridge rising slowly and I'll bake it tomorrow. If DH is at work when I cook it then there is a chance of someone else getting some and him not getting stomach ache from eating hot bread.
I'm still waiting impatiently for my Kemps order. Fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow. I've phoned my DM and asked if she has any basic cardigan patterns and she is going to have a sort out and ask my Auntie if she has any beginners patterns as well.
I'm a bit miffed to say the least at my sister at the moment. It seems whenever I post anything on Facebook she has to make a negative comment. Monday's was that I was baking too much and that it was easier and cheaper to go to Tesco and buy the stuff. Today's was that I shouldn't be spending money on wool in case DH goes off sick with his knees. I feel like I'm being pecked away at bit by bit and know if I say anything about it, I will be the bad guy. Grrrr...oh well, at least I'll be warm and will have cake.
Time to go and see if the boys have left any pizza toppings in the fridge. Take care everyone xxx
P.S I'll reply to posts porerly later. Am on iPad and it's a bit tricky x0 -

* Yeah I know new one to me too...it's a mohawk made of short stumpy dreadlocks...acquired by doing everything to your hair your mum told you never to do...involves twisting, back combing, special spray, matting powder, and wax and squillions of elastic bands!0
