Rosie - I grew up with a cat that was a prolific hunter, we never found a way to curb him either - his favourite was worms, he would wait for my mum to mop the floor then drop a big fat juicy worm on the floor in front of her. She was not impressed :)

Well we had our first group today and we had six arrive which was a nice number as we had chance to get organised move chairs and tables around etc. We have decided to try to get a monthly dads night at the pub started as most of the parents we meet are women who all say their partner isnt coping and doesnt understand autism at all, am hoping an evening in a pub will be none threatening and encourage men to come and chat. One of our group is a dad who is really knowledgeable and will be great at listening to them. :)

Feel awful I had missed Fuddle posting about going offline, I thought her last posts were about her holiday - must pay more attention :(

kidcat hunny, you didn't miss anything. I didn't tell anyone publicly. I made sure I let someone know as not to worry you all though. I so wish I had gotten a spur of the moment hol to France. :)

I needed a break from here guys. I was taken things a bit too much to heart. I found myself bouncing from the ceiling with excitement and literally 30 minutes later in tears over taking things a bit too much to heart.

I'm not well, in my head I mean. I think you've probably all realised that of late. I had indeed lost my spark and found myself reporting doom and gloom every single post... heck I was getting on my own nerves! I was having what I suspect was withdrawl from AD reduction. I'm a bit confused as to whether I'm ready for the dose reduction (I felt I was, I felt super!) or whether the withdrawl is making me feel twice as depressed, frantic etc. Anyway 3 days ago I did something stupid and quit the AD's altogether. I figured they were evil and just wanted to be me. I'm on day 3 of no AD's and apart from headaches I feel calmer and more grounded.

I'm watching myself very carefully and I would ask you all to keep an eye on me too. If you see me getting into a tizzy all too often will you give me a nudge.

I'm determined to do this without medication. I've a healthy eating plan and an exercise plan in place.

My holiday is booked :D Early June next year ;) I have to ask to take the children out of school but I've never done it before so hopefully they will let us. It's 7 nights but 10 really with the travelling. I know the travelling will be hard but I have good girls, we'll make games out of everything. Erm, we're booked on the top deck of the coach :D My head teacher has given me permission to be off work too.

Not mentioning the house. That stuff is far too annoying to care about to be honest.

I'm back, maybe in lurk mode but maybe you won't be able to shut me up, who knows - I divvint! lol

I said I would start a new thread for someone on the 1st Nov. If one of you wants to go ahead and do it for me, please feel free. (pretty please) Did we come up with a name?

love me, the great daft baffoon x

Glad the group seems to have got off to a good start...

    Funny stories about the cats:)

I knew Fuddle said about increasing the Anti Depressents but like you I only saw posts about the holiday and did not see any about not posting...perhaps it was only said in PM's...

Then as I write Fuddle appears...just concentrate on getting better.

I think the holiday will be allowed and if you can make the case for how it will do your daughters a lot of good mentally and culturally that it is rare and not something that can done on a regular bases and is really special. Is it worth bringing it up now to see how you stand? To sort out any possible problems sooner rather than later...

Being on the top deck you will probably get much better views of everything as you travel. An added bonus!

I hope the stopping of the AD's works...if not at worst you go back on them.

If you can use other means to improve such as diet, vitamins/minerals alternative therapies...go for it! There are some good books to read. Even free one's come up on the internet as e-books that you can download to your PC.

Recent events can't have helped...try not to be hard on yourself.

    Thanks Pops :)

Fuddle - be very careful with the ADs, OH did something similar and then it hit him a week or so later, make sure you keep your GP informed as well. Am so pleased you have booked the holiday, its goos to have a definite goal. As for school - they may well say no and if they do its an unauthorised absence which at one school of our incurs a £50 fine - if you put a little aside each week between now and then, the fine wont be an issue.
I would make an appointment to speak to the HT and explain rather than just filling in a form, if you explain about the money and how you are feeling etc I am sure there wont be a problem.

I had a miscarriage years ago when the eldest two were only young, our school had a zero tolerance policy on holidays, I was incredibly ill and shocked as the miscarriage nearly killed me, my dad signed all sorts of papers at hospital he said no father should ever have to sign. We were given a little money by a family friend to have s short break and whilst the money would have stretched to two nights away in summer, it covered a week in school term.
I spoke to the HT and explained how ill I had been and how I really needed the break that a week would give me, he approved it there and then without consulting anybody.

jem - I would be hosing him down outside, tipping antibacterial stuff over him and then hosing again - but then I'm just mean:D:D

The clothes on a hot wash should be fine, its the boots I would be worried about to be honest - I would leave them stood in a tray of antibacterial stuff over night,
