    Morning all

MrsLW - so pleased DD is back
Stiltwalker - oh yes piccys please and I hope tomorrow brings you every joy
I have an evening of mending ahead of me, DH has trousers that need attention and I have a couple of buttons to replace.
And the monthly meal plan will be done, along with the freezer audit so we know what we (still) have.
Lovely day yesterday with DS and DNiece. Getting very cold here so I have given my vintage Jaeger bargain long coat an outing, lovely and soft and warm it is too. Very pleased with that purchase earlier this summer!
Washing mountain finally tamed and Doglet's bedding fumigated, sorry cleansed, today so he will be in a proper sulk now!
DH overtime all dried up so no hope of the finances being given a boost before the end of the Gregorian year, or indeed at the start of this Celtic year!
Scone, yum yum, what a good idea. will consider baking tonight - only consider though!

Annie I have to agree re that article, dont they realise how we all have to cope.

Stiltwalker have a wonderful day - I do hope the weather isnt too bad.

As for the programme about the foodbanks, there was one little comment that seems to have been missed - when the conman was piling up bag upon bag of a food a chap said to him 'is that all yours?' The conman said 'yes I have a large family ' I only saw 1 child???? Surely the charity checked how big the family was ? I was

Off out to look for ys's with DD today, I really need to get out of the house for a couple of hours. Going to treat us to a Christmas decoration OH saw in B&M the other week - £2.99 light up star for the window because DGS loves lights.

Ha! it's a slippery slope Ginny, my dad only started putting up outside lights since he had his first grandchild (DS, who also loved lights). 10 years later and he has something extra to put up every year since!
My dad is a star though, he put up 2 curtain poles here yesterday and we now have lovely curtains at the front door and the French windows at the back, which will hopefully keep us toasty warm this winter.

Still not supposed to be here, writer's block has taken hold and I'm having a break.

Stiltwalker: have a beautiful day tomorrow.

Fuddle: don't stay away too long, we love you and we miss you.

Thank you to all the people who have commented on my name. What an insufferably goody-goody person I sound. Honestly, I'm not really like that at all, I am as selfish and grouchy as the next person
and pretty intolerant too, although I do my best to hide it.
As to my name - when I was born I was delivered by our family doctor who was much given to biblical quotations. I finally arrived at about 6.00am on a beautiful spring morning and he went out to where my Dad, Grandmother and Aunt were waiting and said, "Sorrow endures for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Hence the name. Nothing to do with a lovely nature, regretfully.

Well, the wretched magazine isn't going to write itself.

Will have to consult with OH as my technial advisor as this is beyond my capabilities! But will try to do one of all of us together as DD also has a beautiful dress and my 2 men (big guy and little guy) are both going to look very handsome too.

Oh that would be lovely and you can pixelate the faces to retain anonymity x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

:rotfl:Monnagran that is a funny story!

MrsLurcherwalker am glad your DD is home safely. She will have a tale to tell, that's for sure.

And STILTWALKER, all the best for a gorgeous day tomorrow. I hope you enjoy every minute. And please do try and post some photos, or set up a flickr account and post a link so we can ooh and aah at you in your lovely dress!

I have an unexpected day off work so I have been decluttering. I am trying to sort my bedroom out so I can have a little table up there with a candle on so I have a calm space to be still in. There is so much upheaval in the world and so many people in dire straits and the only thing I can do really is to pray/meditate/send healing thoughts for a few minutes each day. But I can't do it surrounded by clutter! Well, I could, but it's very distracting!

I have to say it is lovely to have the house to myself without Lodger Boy. I have said I will take him back as the charity has nowhere for him to stay at the moment if I don't. I have decided to leave the oven for him to do when he gets back. I'm sure he'll be delighted .... We are going to sit down in a neutral meeting place on the day he's due back and discuss the situation with his social worker. Apparently he thinks that because he's not here very much, he shouldn't have to do any housework ! I am trying very hard to be charitable but actually want to blast him. However that wouldn't be very helpful so I will endeavour to stare at my candle each night between now and when he comes back and try and approach the situation calmly!

Well, best get back to it. I don't know where all the rubbish and clutter comes from .... there must be a clutterbug living in this house who brings stuff in when I'm asleep ......

Kidcat hope your group meeting went well. Let us know. xx

Fuddle where are you? Probably reading 'A Year in Provence' in preparation for your holiday! xx

Stiltwalker - have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Can't face DS's room, it can wait till tomorrow. I have decided to start on our room as that is my haven and I want it more haven-like!

I have a lovely chicken soup / stew in the slow cooker that smells divine. COuld just eat it now rather than wait for tea time. DD has instructions to pick herself up soemthing from Mr M for tea as I am fed up with the continual "what do you want for tea?" which always gets the response "what can I have?" And when various suggestions are made it is always met with "I don't like ...." She is vegetarian but won't eat tomatoes, nuts, pulses, mushrooms, aubergine, courgette, pepper. I am going to let her deal with it.

Ah well, back to the cleaning / tidying. Housework is boring isn't it....
I wanna be in the room where it happens
