I like the idea but would not pay £14 for one. I'd get my child to make one and add some money in a card.
I wouldn't want a basket of fruit for my birthday so I can only imagine what most children would think! My niece doesn't like chocolate so has sweets or other goodies instead of an Easter egg - I don't think fruit would go down well with her either! Each unto their own though.
As for the amount of money - £5 is the norm for school friends in these parts. Any more would be for a close friend only.0 -
I don't yet have kids but when i was a teen me and my close group of friends had a rule to only spend £5 on each other for a birthday and £10 for christmas but we had to find something quirky that the recipient would find funny or useful etc.
We were a group of 5 very close friends so it wasn't a lot of money and we knew exactly how much we had to spend so could budget throughout the year/didn't cost our parents a fortune etc.
Makes the present a bit more special knowing that the person has really gone out and thought about what to get.
The only time we didn't do this was if a friend really wanted something then we would club together and suprise them. One Step at a time0
