Personally i think it's a bizarre idea for a present. But I don;t know the recipient. IT's not something i would give to someone but we are all different.

I agree with skintchick. However they are only littles and different things appeal to them.

I have to say as a parent if my child was bought one of those I would be pretty horrified. There is usually junk party food and cakes doing the rounds, chucking a cookie bigger than a child's head into the mix wouldn't sit too well with me.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

None of the children I know open their gifts during their party. The gifts are taken home and opened later on, so although the cookie might be oohed and aahed over when it is presented to the birthday child it would probably not be eaten on the same day as the party food.

My child has never seen Millie's cookies, but if somebody gave such a thing to him for his 7th party this month it would be shared between family and eaten over more than 1 day.

I'd let mine buy one for his best friend I think, if he asked. I wouldn't normally spend £14 on a resent for a schoolfriend unless they were a best friend. The children might have been discussing these cookies in the playground, and perhaps the birthday child really wants one.

    Hi
    Thanks for all the replies.
Problem was solved as we left it too late to order the cookie. So just stuck some money in a card for them Ended up costing me more, but didn't seem right to just stick a tenner in.

Just out of curiosity - what is the amount people give for money in a card. I see some people saying a fiver........to me you couldn't buy a toy for that so would never put that in

I tend to do best friends or not so close the same.....they have both invited you to a party, thus same price pressie.-

We would normally leave it to our child to decide, would be conputer games usually- but does get pretty expensive as sometimes they have loads of parties.

What do other people spend for teens

i have a recipie for cookies, and they are just like millies
i make them a couple of times per week
as my children are older, we stick to choc chip, white choc chip and fudge chunk ones but you can add anything you wish to them, smarties etc

i have no idea where the recipe originates from
and i got into bother posting the recipe before because of that :o
i have never made a huge one from it though
but it makes 24 normal sized cookies cheaply

As for the money, it depends on how close a friend it is.

You just have to use your own intelligent judgement and decide for yourself.

I am surprised so many people like them as I think they are horrible

I hadn't realised you were talking about teens. I thought you were on about a Primary school aged child and did think it was a bit of an odd choice. I can understand it more with a teen.

As for amounts I stick to £5/£10. I could buy something for £5 as I'd buy books from discount stores, or stock up on a generic present in sales and that was my budget for a classmate. For an actual friend they played with, I'd go to £10. My 12yo has his birthday before his set of friends who are all summer born, and so far either the child hasn't had a celebration this year or they haven't had their birthday yet.
