I've just spent a couple of days reading your whole diary and been very impressed with what you have managed to do so far esp. at such a young age. I'm in the process of looking for my first place to buy at the moment but once I finally find it I want to try and pay off the mortgage as quickly as possible and it's been great to read what everyone has managed to do here. At the moment while I'm looking I'm just trying to save as much as possible so I can have a bigger deposit and some money to buy furniture to put in the place. I might do what you did and have a budget for each item I need to buy. I also find I'm becoming a bit of a spreadsheet geek like many on here and love playing with graphs and conditional formats to add some colour to it :)

I saw your post and then work went stupidly busy yesterday....got pulled into a meeting / brainstorming session that literally last all day. Anyway I rang and managed to open the account whilst 'brainstorming' late yesterday afternoon so it is open and showing in my FD home-screen this morning

    :T Good show :T
(however the boss thinks I am mad having such urgency to open an account!!)

    Well............ that's his problem :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Thank you!! I do feel for you though having read all of my diary!! Some people on here are very articulate and there posts are like reading a book....mine I'm afraid, well they are written normally when i have just got into the office in a morning and trying to get my thoughts down before someone comes to get me to do something!!

Are you planning on doing a diary? I would suggest doing one. Also there is thread on this board called something like 'All the small things i have done to be MFW'. I read that before starting to read other peoples diaries and that was a great help for lots of tips. It is a thread where lots of people list all the bits and peices they do to help with there MFW ambition - very good read!!

    Weekend update -

Did the food shopping on Friday night, pretty much all food etc for the next two weeks. Hit Ald! and M0rrisons - Aldi was around £41 and M0rrisons just under £30 .... will double check figures on bank statement and update signature. Will need to buy milk and fruit but that is the bones for all meals for the next two weeks and also some packs of meat (turkey mince on offer!) in the freezer for the weeks later in the month. :T:T

Interest of just over £115 paid to savings account so will be updating signature shortly. :j

2 items sold on ebay for £11...now I just need to post. :j

Soup made (both MSE and WW friendly!) 4 Portions in the freezer for lunches. :j

Batch Cooked Meatballs for tea this fortnight and 2 spare portions for later in the month. :j

Went to b00ts and stocked up on make up and toiletries which only required a £3.20 spend as I used a gift card from Xmas. :j

Am now up to £20 S&S vouchers....just need to decide where to take the vouchers for.:question:

Good weekend WW Wise...hoping for a good lose this week as I have only lost 2lbs since xmas :eek::eek:

Biggest news....we are still not having the heating on a lot - couple of hours on saturday but not on at all yesterday. Woohooo!!!:j

Hmm think that is all for now!

Hope everyone had a great weekend...will be updating signature shortly :D:D

I've been loving reading your diary I think because you write like I do (a bit of a brain dump at times). I'm not sure I'll manage to start my own diary as I tend to not be very good at remembering to update things like this. However will definitely check out the 'All the small things..' thread. I just hope I can find a place to buy, went looking this weekend but not much on the market where I'm looking and lots of other people that want the same type of place as me so competition is very strong whenever something becomes available. Definitely not a buyers market in London :(

I feel for you in London, I have a friend trying to buy down there and the prices make my eyes water:eek::eek:

NSD yesterday and same for today. Gym class last night and the bf made dinner which is no small achievement in my house. We have chicken breasts in one of the 'so juicy' bags....oh my it was delicious!!!:T:T

Need to keep my eye out for those again when they are on offer.

Not much today, batch cooked meal for tonight's dinner after the gym.

Heating was on a little bit yesterday (whilst i was at work and the bf was off) but was off when I came in last night!!

Really need to get back into the swing of nectar searches and VO surveys...really let this slip of late.

£5 Halifax reward saver moved to savings so will update signature shortly. :j
another NSD yesterday. Wont be one today as I have to post 2 ebay parcels that sold. Although just seen invoice for ebay for the last month and it has pretty much eaten into all my sales profits anyway :eek:

Ventured slightly off meal plan last night as the bf went out and i ended up babysitting. However i was able to lift one of the meals i had batch cooked out of the freezer and stay within points etc so really feeling the benefit of all the batch cooking!!

  • The meals straight from the freezer are great when you have limited time or don't feel like it - makes it easier not to give in to tempation of take away or going out.

It certainly does...also means I don't feel like I have slaved away cooking every night of the week!!

Some news in my world - I am going back to uni!!! After all my celebrating recently having finished, I have decided to go back and do the higher level course. I wasn't going to because of costs and workload but have since found out that the higher level is funded (if I carry straight on) and the modules are seriously reduced. Decided I may aswell top my foundation degree up to a full BA degree seeing as the cost to me is £0.

It will mean the petrol spends every week and also the £2.80 parking, however that is for 24 weeks of the year and I can claim the £430 grant to cover these costs. What I will in fact do is cover the extra petrol and parking out of my normal spending / petrol allowance and put the grant money into my savings / perhaps buy a book or two!:rotfl:

Out for dinner last night which was the first thing taken out of my 'spending money' for the month. Got to get a birthday present today which I will pay for out of the shopping budget and the bf popped over aldi yesterday for a few things which also came out of the shopping budget. Need to find out total figures and update signature.

Had a cr4ppy 1lb loss at fat club last night, a bit peed off as I had been super good all week and done 4 gym classes. Hopefully it will show on the scales next week.

Hope all are well in MFW land :D:D
