oh and as an additional point I have booked a viewing to see a house! Yes two years too early according to our plan, but really need to see it to put it out of my mind!;)

Beautiful old victorian house opposite a park in a lovely area, very good price...just feel we would be ridiculose to buy already having only been in the flat 6 months and only just starting on our savings plan.

Def...not buying, just satisfying interst...honestly.....promise.......cross my heart.........:eek:

Morning all, well all these thoughts about this house and I feel guilty...like I am cheating on my lovely flat!

Ideally I want to go and not like it, really could do with a couple of years to get ourselves straight etc. Going to ring est agents later and see if I can bring the viewing forward. Its not till the 19th but I want to try and squeeze it in before if possible.

In other news...I had a little work out of the figures and if I account for Petrol and food shopping separately that leaves me around £175 a month for general spends. Going to have a play when home tonight on my spreadsheet but think I will work this way going forward.

Not much else to report I don't think, food shopping being delivered tonight and really glad to have a night and just go home from work, the flat is a bit of a mess and needs a good tidy.

Washing to be done and ebay parcels need to be ready to send.

Lost 2lbs at fat club last night...woohooo! lets hope I can keep it up!!

well no need to feel guilts....the house has been sold this morning :sad::sad::cry::cry::cry:

I guess what is meant to be is meant to be, but I have spent all morning thinking about the figures and come to the conclusion that yes we could make it work and then .... get that news and it was all for nothing!

Oh well...i suppose looking on the bright side of things it means i know we could afford it should another 'perfect' house came up, only problem is I cant see that happening for that price.

Anyway, back to the savings plan....maybe i should un-install the rightmove app from my phone...i fear it makes me worse!!

    Morning all....its Friday :j:j:j:j

Busy weekend this weekend - again trying to get organised. Lots to do but nothing really planned in apart from organising and a bit of uni work. Next Wednesday = last day and I cant wait!!!

Online shopping delivered last night so the fridge and freezer are very well stocked which should see us through for around 2 weeks, only need to get some fruit and milk.

Went through my budget spreadsheet last night. I currently have weekly money which covered my petrol, food shopping and any other bits and pieces I want. By doing this monthly I can move the £160 buffer of that account (pay same each week regardless of how many weeks in month so needed a buffer for 5 week months) into my savings account.

Then I will work on the basis of 5 weeks worth of Petrol every month and on a 4 week month this surplus can then be swept across to savings account.

Not going to uni each week should save me around £5 per week in petrol so hopefully can reduce my spend to £30 instead of £35 per week.

Cant wait for January to be over. With paying off Credit card and BF not starting to contribute until Feb I feel like I have not acomplished anything this month. :( Roll on February!!

Savings Estimations last night looked like I could save:

    £441 out of salary.
£168 - BF will be paying around £42 per week which will go into savings as I am covering the bills and then sending his money to savings acc as he pays weekly.
£82 - Repayment of his £1k loan to clear arreas
£120 - Interest payment of savings
£200 (Ish) - Refund of Maintenance.

Hopefully by the end of Feb my balance will be up around £1000 :j:j

I need to really be tight the next few months as we have a lot going on in May / June with Hen do, wedding and 2 holidays so will no doubt spend a fair bit then.

Hope all are well and looking forward to the weekend :)xx

Sorry guys...another note really just so I can keep track of what I've done!

Split the remaining monthly money -

    £105 - Petrol (3 fill up's) (LLD Acc)
£50 - Food Shopping (HFX Acc)
£130 - Spending Money (FD Acc) - Need to skim some of this into savings acc, need to take ebay postage out of this acc.

Going to give 'monthly spending' a go rather than the weekly that I am used to.

That should see me through to the end of Jan and then do the whole month in Feb.

Off to see what I can skim across for all accounts into savings!
