Pity about the job, but these things usually happen for a reason.
At least you had the experience of the interviews and got the chance to test the water elsewhere.

another change of plan...xmas shopping with the bf's niece put off until next week when I will have the money to get all there presents.
Therefore all money this week is to go on food shopping. Just went to Morrisons at lunchtime and got some stuff...lovely pork steaks, turkey leg and joint (£4 which I thought was good as it is 1600g minimum).
Other bits and bobs and will do some more shopping over the weekend, will do aldi for the main bits and then asda for other stuff, once the freezer and cupboards are stocked up again, we shouldn't need to do another big shop until I want to use the morrisons savers stamps (£100) which will be early - mid December and will mainly be used for stocking up on meat and fish....dont want to waste it all on partyfood!!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

hope all are well in mfw land! If i can get all my work and cleaning and food shopping etc done tomorrow...then I will be looking forward to sunday morning on the sofa, and a catch up with all diaries xx2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

Hi Laura
Sorry to hear you didn't get the job but I'm sure that it means something else even better will present itself for you.
Have a good weekend

hi all...well the weekend was a bit of a workey one, lots of work done as we have big presentation tomorrow at work...could be a late night tonight.
Spent the £100 savings stamps in morrisons - went and did a big shop to fill up the freezer...most of if spent on meat and fish. Apart from chicken breasts (which we seem to go through at an alarming rate!) we prob wont need to buy much meat before xmas and therefore keep the food shopping budget fairly light.
Need to have a sort out with regards to my credit card....had paid for an xmas present on it and then paid it straight off, now the present has to go back and the alternative cant be paid by credit card!! Just need to figure out what the credit card 'owes' me and then jiggle spending accordingly!
Holiday booked for next year....week away in Cornwall, booked the cottage and have to pay deposit. Got a very good price and going with family which will be doubled up as an xmas present!
lots of planning and organising to do....not much of that done over the weekend as it was quite work fuelled, however I am hoping this weekend is a bit more chilled!
The xmas present listing is slowly but surely reducing, would really like to have it all done and sorted before the end of Novemberbut I think that may be a bit too much of a stretch.
I will update spending diary shortly, been a funny week though with xmas present money coming in from the bf, saving stamps used etc etc. I will be glad to get back to a simple week!
Hope all are wellxx2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

morning all...well another busy day...big presentation today (i have to do the presentation but not actually present it this time which is great!) but did mean I was in the office at 6am.
had a sort out of money...will be posting weekly spends diary in a sec, i have taken out all the holiday deposit etc so I am just concentrating on the actual spending money for the week which after petrol is £50. Plenty!!
The bf has offered to take me out on saturday night and pay, he did even offer to get us a taxi so I can have a drink but have said I will drive...the meal out will do ww enough damage, I dont need any additional points!
will be nice for us to spend some time together, everything seems to be such a rush lately and the last two weeks he has been working nights so really looking forward to it.
in other news...the house completes today so the 60k earmarked for me is all but certian now. Very happy as it means i can crack on with OP'ing on the flat and have a focus.
I will still save until after xmas though and really need to work out budget for things like car tax, etc so I dont end up op'ing everything and then not being able to access it...dont have that problem with savings account so I dont tend to break things like this down.
As always I will try to cover most things out of weekly pay.
Another xmas present ordered yesterday and toted up last night I have £119 left to spend. Then I will get half of this back from the bf which is great. Should be able to do quite easily over the next few weeks (although not next week as I have a heck of a lot on next week), really am going to push to be done by early Dec....end of Nov is just a step too far!
Then I will go through and tot up what I have managed to buy people using vouchers etc. Only had 1 S&S voucher so far, should be able to get one more before xmas, next year however going from January should really help towards the cost of xmas 2013.2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

oops also..have £10 worth of TCB claim waiting to become payable....holding out on an amazon order until that comes through!
pps...presentation done and they are all in the meeting now...thought i best explain otherwise it seems a bit silly me moaning about being busy whilst being on here...having a well earned half hour surf now the presentation is complete!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

well what a 24hours it has been!! The house has completed and I know have £60k sitting very very pretty in my savings account:j:j:beer::beer:
Even though i knew it was coming...it was still a shock when I checked my bank balance!!
So, I have figured out that my savings rate pays 3.2% which will equate to around £160 per month in interest being paid. This I will leave in and use to cover things like car insurance, holidays etc. Basically I will not allow my savings to go under the 60k, and would very much like to save as much of this interest as possible...but glad to know it is there just in case.
Which means I can start in the new year throwing everything I have at the mortgage. :j:j
I should have around £400 leftover at the end of November pay but I 'owe' about £120 to my savings which I used last night to pay the holiday deposit.(got the figures wrong and couldn't stretch the weekly budget to accommodate so borrowed out of savings (my part not the 60k and decided to use the extra money this week to finish of xmas presents!). I also have not paid any council tax since moving in to the flat, I have chased a number of time but they have not sorted anything out for me....finally banded me (although i am going to be appealing as I think too high) but haven't had payment details through, there is however an account set up for me now so I can at least put some money into that for when they finally decide to sort my account out.
Would also like to allow a little extra for xmas. If i am able to finish off all my xmas shopping this week, (had pulled money together to pay holiday balance which I did another with borrowing from savings so now have £120 for week and petrol already bought) I know next week is going to be tight, but then after that I can start trying to keep a bit of cash back each week to be able to spend over the break.
I get paid on the last day of the month so once xmas is done and I get my December pay (31st dec) I will make my first OP on the 1st of Jan 2013....i cant wait :T:T:T:T:T
Sooo soo sooo happy....feel like everything is falling into place...I know I haven't been on this board a long time but this has been in the pipeline for ages!
Oh and just to top it off....the boots vouchers that I have been waiting from from VO have arrived...wont use them myself but bf's sister is buying them from me!!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32
