additionally if when we buy the 'family home' if i can convince the bf not to be too extravagant and buy something not too expensive, then we could afford to op this mortgage and the mortgage on the rented flat.
I suppose I need to take into account savings for hols / wedding (if he ever bothers to pop the question) but that could come from bonuses / reduce op slightly2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

It was expected to be honest, but I had to remind them...thought I would have to put up more of a fight for it though!! Will be nice next payday!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

popped into Alid when i got home and bought some bits to tide us over till the weekend and for a dinner i am cooking the bf's sisters tomorrow night (didnt need the stuff tonight but wont have time tomorrow so am not technically starting spending diary early!!)
Just bought three xmas presents from Amazon, £22 in total and that is them all sorted.
Have requested £20 VO vouchers which I will use for some more xmas pressies and maybe cards...love there xmas cards but wouldn't be able to justify the cost normally!
Hoping to have most of xmas pressies completed by the end of November...not loads to buy this year as we have all agreed to cut down considerably.2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

Pay day in 2 hours 20 mins:j:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer::beer:
worked out all my figures for the month and £362
is going over to the savings in the morning....however...I may have to take back up to £250 of that depending upon what happens in the month:mad:. Still waiting for Council tax to be banded, if it happens this month then I may have to make first payment which I think will be around £80. I also have a loan that is due to be cleared this month with the money from the house sale...however if that doesn't come through in time then I may need to pull £160 back out to pay this months payment.
Money in this month...hopefully going to be getting a uni grant....should be around £250 which would be great if it hit my bank this month. I have £20 boots vouchers on there way and £11 tesco vouchers that I will put towards xmas stuff.
Also have some music magpie to do, ebay and book sales...would love to be able to bring in a total of £100 but not sure how possible that is....we shall see2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

Happy payday
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thank you!!
Moved money around in the various account, savings now stand at £1236.19 :j:j (i did include in the transfer the £5 that will be paid from Halifax reward account on the 2nd...thought I may as well transfer it now.
I have decided that I will do the OP as detailed above, but will start in the New Year. Until then I am going to concentrate on building up the savings for possibly the maintenance payment of £900 (if I have to pay it in one go) and the council tax increase that will come shortly.
Still on course not to dip into savings for xmas pressies and cant see that changing. I may however allow a bit of extra spending money in xmas week...dont want to have no fun at all!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

List text books for sale
Music Magpie sale
List Ebay items
Decided to re post this down here, I keep not being able to find it as I did the post and the plan for the weekly spending before the 'week' starting!
Think I may jig the budget about, not get the paint this weekend and possibly not spend a full £10 at the bonfire and try to get another xmas present or two. Really want to crack on get them sorted asap. I can ask for a b&q voucher for xmas for the paint as in all honesty I prob wont get chance to sort decorate it before then anyway...at least over xmas we will have some time.2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

Well done on the saves and the pay rise.
I would say don't rely too much on the fact you are getting this £60k - wait till it happens and see what situation you are in and then decide what the best options are. It's nice to know that its coming though...

Now at the point of completion in the next 1-2 weeks according to soliciotrs this morning.
That being said, I wouldn't start to OP (and in turn clear some of savings) until that £60k is sitting pretty in my account!!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32
