Flutterby when I make celery soup I get lots of those spikey bits in. Do you sieve yours and what else do you put in it? Why not pop over to Bristol and have a coffee with me sometime. I have worked on the voluntary sector with adult teaching so we could swap stories. Cabot Circus is worth a visit....LOL!

Gintot - My brother lives in Bristol so next time I go visit I shall let you know! For my celery soup I use one onion, 2 med/large potatos, and approx whole celery plus one litre of veg stock. Simmer for 15mins til it's all mushy, add teaspoon of dill, simmer bit longer. Then it goes in blender and gets blended to death!! I hate lumpy soup, so I really pulverise it :rotfl: Never get any spikey bits that way!

    Morning all

The weather's pants here too, seems like its spread across almost all the country so to cheer myself up - have purchased the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy - only to find out what all the fuss is about - you understand!! ;););)

Have purchased the £10 meal deal ready for tonight's dinner, bottle of wine in the fridge etc. Nice to not be under pressure all the time to get everything done etc.:)

Have done the housework, so will be doing the ironing shortly - as the washing comes out of the TD - need to keep up to date with it all now as hols are not so far away.

Take it steady everyone, there's loads of surface water on the roads.

    Good Afternoon All

Been out in the rain loads this morning and now am quite damp through.

Went to our local town to see the Torch Relay - got a very good spot and really enjoyed it - atmosphere was lovely. Then popped into Chelmsford to get bits for DD's birthday on Tuesday.

Now home and plan to potter about for a bit. Weather is atrocious so no washing today.

Hilstep - enjoy Ikea, went the other day but managed to spend under a tenner :T

    G'day.

Went to the hospital with the rev this morning for her appointment. Right time, right date, wrong month.

Went to Sains...y's and picked up a few bargains and had lunch.

Back home, 3 lots of callers, one of whom required tea and sympathy.

Watched Neighbours and here I am.

Hilstep & Others: Every time we go to Ikea the rev stocks up on huge church candles. We very rarely use candles in our church so we now have about 4 x 64L plastic boxes full of them, not to mention several thousand tealights. Next time there is an electricity cut I know one house that will rival Blackpool Illuminations.

LW Gintot & BB: Sorry you are all too late, I've already bagged the job of HH's proof reader on the grounds that I need the excitement and my mind is in urgent need of broadening.

WS: My DS1, aged 5 was very perturbed about how God would know if he was dead. Would it be when he looked like this, with which he lay down on the floor with eyes closed and hands clasped together. I said that well it might be a clue. Whereupon he leapt to his feet yelling, "I'm alive, I'm alive!"

CandyG: I suppose it rather depends on what your life is like and what you consider boring. In view of my previously mentioned need of excitement and mind broadening I must obviously hasten off to Amazon immediately.

Off to scour the fridge for the makings of tea.

Another b....y meeting tonight. Deep joy.
