    Morning All

Happy Birthday to Holly JackieO. Glad your friend is managing ok, I'm sure her OH will realise that the grass isn't always greener.

Have someone coming to look at a bed I have for sale this morning, I advertised it for £100 complete with mattress (cost about £260 all together and only been used a handful of times) and he e-mailed to offer me £50 and he could take it away!! A bit cheeky but we'll see what he says later.

Also off to a friends for coffee and then work at 5 for another busy night.

    Take care. XX

Hilstep - IKEA are really, really expert at extracting money. The stuff is well designed (usually) and inexpensive, but their stores are always set up so that it is easy to spend. They have tape measures and pencils handy, there is usually a subsidised restaurant to make it easy to stay longer (the meatballs are worth trying) and you look at the stuff and think, 'why didn't I think of that?'

Actually we are probably having IKEA meatballs here for tea tonight, lurgy permitting. You can buy them frozen. btw, all the furniture, plates and eating irons in the cafe can be bought in the store and so can a lot of the comestibles.

I now try and take cash only and remember to take carrier bags.

Little bear is currently obsessed with who is in heaven and what will happen there and how he doesn't want to die. I had to comfort him and console him as he was sobbing at the thought of not having his toy rat in heaven. That got the day off on the right foot. As for the weather, I think I will have to fetch him home in a boat, the weather is foul.

Absolutely no idea what I am doing today but there is more than a hint of ironing in the air. Also hiding the blank Christmas cards. I have been trying to sort out and brought down some blank Christmas cards to put with the rest for next year. Little bear insisted he wanted some to play with. He also walked off with the inexpensive bulldog clips I have bought to keep the various packets of cereal, etc closed. I think I may go on a search and retrieve mission - including his socks. He habitually sleeps in one sock. Shoes and socks are discarded randomly in all sorts of places.

Hester - I salute the courage of your union rep if she had the faintest clue what you are like! Seriously, you need an autobiography.

    hugs to all

Approved food order delivered and put away; bathrooms cleaned (forgot yesterday!); shower gels, shampoos and hand wash topped up with basic shampoo+dettol. Need to put a wash on, do OU assignment, make carrot soup, add sugar to the elderflower champagne and go to the post office when the rain eases off. Productive day hopefully :j

    Morning.
Fed up with rain. Utterly sick of it. Fields where walk dogs are ankle deep in mud in places and flooded in others.
So stuck in house doing housework, oh joy. Dog broke my favourite mug this morning so she's in disgrace. Generally not in a happy mood today :o:rotfl:
No idea what's for tea, trying to wrangle babysitters for me and H to go out.

JackieO happy birthday to GD Holly.

Sybil my DS has been going on about whether he will die. Really not a conversation I want to have with my 6 year old for some reason, find it upsetting not sure why :o

Hilstep I've never ever been to Ikea either :rotfl:

Hugs and spoons all round x

Usually a bag of tealights, a houseplant or kitchen implements!

:rotfl::rotfl:It's not just me then! I f we ever had a powercut here I reckon I have enough Ikea candles to keep the light going for at least a month! :rotfl:.

I have the day off :j but no plans, and it's about to pour down. I'm not sure what I fancy doing. I was going to go to the local farmer town half hour away and maybe meet a friend for coffeee, but he's working all day so may not be able to meet me. I don't really want to spend money today. I may just potter round the house and do some jobs here. I have paperwork to sort, and uni files to go through now I've finished.

OS wise - BM on, dishes to wash, I may make some celery soup for lunch as have a sad looking celery in fridge, LO lasagne for dinner with LO mash - all from freezer :D.

    Have a good day all

Hi all – and a very soggy day it is, in Concrete Cow Country! *insert Brolly smilie*
Hoppy Birdday to JackieO's DGD Holly.
Floss I've never yet set foot in Ikea – but I seem to go through tea lights as though they were going out of style!:D

Judi have a lovely weekend with your DH. I, too, like to cook what Mr LW likes (within reason – I can't bring myself to handle meat or fish) so I get him to help me meal plan.;)
I've been having weird dreams, too – I had a really strange one yesterday, which I've carefully documented, and Mr LW's going to help me try to make sense of it over the weekend.

Sybil What on earth has got Little Bear going about heaven? Seems a strange thing for a 5-year-old to be worrying about, bless him. Oh no, reading on through the thread, Bitsy's DS is on a similar track.:( What can have put that into their little heads?

Oh, and if Hester ever does write her autobiography, I volunteer for proof-reading duty.:rotfl:

BM is currently chugging away, and we'll have a tomato loaf later - I haven't made one of those for ages!

We have to go into town when Mr LW finishes work (on Early Shift, wfh today) so I hope the rain lets up - I can't swim!:rotfl:

LW suspect it was my grandfathers death in April, we explained what had happened as he knew who he was. With DS and his ASD what looks like hasnt penetrated his brain actually has and might emerge months later. I can't say he seemed overly worried but was enquiring if he was going to die. I just found his questioning upsetting but kids are curious :o

Candygirl :(:( to SOTD being an ungrateful cow. Bang out of order. Again. Hope OH is ok, hugs to you both xxxx

    Afternoon all

Another one here who is sad about the weather. I just looked at the forecast for next week and it's enought to make you weep. So I am getting on with the washing as it is dry here today atm. One load out and another in the machine and I am watching the weather like a hawk!

CG hope you get DH's diagnosis sorted.

LW tomato loaf sounds yummy. I am not very adventurous with my breadmaker-I often make a farmhouse loaf from my bread bible book. I haven't looked back since a got a bread keeper with a slicing guide inside. Now I can cut lovely regular slices the family love hm bread.I am thinking of experimenting with rye with caraway seeds.

BB if I lived closer I would babysit for you.

    JackieO Happy Birthday to Holly.

Flutterby when I make celery soup I get lots of those spikey bits in. Do you sieve yours and what else do you put in it? Why not pop over to Bristol and have a coffee with me sometime. I have worked on the voluntary sector with adult teaching so we could swap stories. Cabot Circus is worth a visit....LOL!

hi Judi- my OH loves to choose his meals all week! LOL

HH bags me second proofreader after LW! Actually why not write a book........

Sistercas hope you don't get flooded.

I am very excited as OH is going to join Costco. I go sometimes with a friend and it's worth it just for the good quality meat.

Hello to anyone I may have left out-hope you are having a good day.

Fish for tea, leftovers for lunch. Hopefully washing line dried.

    Have a good day all

I think you may need a Health and Safety Overview. Honestly, Hester, you should and you should write it yourself, you have a brilliant writing style!

Poor little bear. Questions about heaven and dying come and go. However he has asked where his grandparents are, and all but my father are dead. He has also listened to my cat stories (one day I shall write a book of cat stories and then you will be sorry) and asked where the ones no longer with us are (I stuck to 'heaven' though not sure how canonical that is, all I know is that part of my idea of heaven is having my psycho cat curled up on me like a furry, purry ton weight). I just tell him that they still love him, that they want him to be happy and then try and find something to distract him with. Currently Ben £*@% 10 works.

I've done a tiny bit of decluttering, emptied all dehumidifiers and now considering curling up with knitting and some trashy tv.

    hugs to all
