Friday 6th July OS Daily

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Jackie & all who cross/follow
Fish fed, packups made & I'm off to work in a sec, hubby working 10 'til 10 today, next week he's on split shifts, poor soul, still he's just grateful for the money.
DGD1 who is nearly 5 has taken to calling DGD2 who is 18 months, cherud, when asked why she said 'Cos Nana calls me cherud' DD explained that actually Nana (me) calls her cherub, not cherud, but DGD1 is admant that I call her cherud, so a new word has been added to the family dictionary that already includes squiddle (squirrel) & callots (carrots).
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

  • Good morning all,
Overcast and drizzly here today, it is supposed to be like this all day. We have had some nice weather so can't complain.
Going to try to get DD in at the Dr's today, her throat looks so sore and red and it hurts her ear when she swallows. It takes ages to get through to our Dr's.
We had potatoes and salad off our allotment for tea yesterday. Everything tasted lovely. Have some salad left so we will be having that for tea tonight with chicken.
Wm is on so that will have to go on the airer today.
Jackie, birthday wishes to your GD Holly.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Overcast, dull and raining steadily, very wet underfoot. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Dinner last night was egg, bacon etc for DH - unfortunately his vehicle broke down so he didn't get home until 8pm, he was absolutely shattered - I ate earlier as he wasn't sure what time he would be home then I cooked his as soon as he walked in, whilst he was getting a quick freshen up. Hoping today will be a little less stressful for him.

Dinner tonight will be a £10 dine for 2 meal as a special treat - I've placed on on-line shop to be delivered tomorrow morning as its just bucketing down here and I and the shopping get soaked getting from car to house - so as I'm not in desperate need for anything they can deliver tomorrow!

Have the normal round of chores to do and looks like I'll have to use the TD. Did manage to get some ironing done yesterday but today's main jobs are all household type things, but I do need to go to the bank but that's not a long job and I can be back quickly.

Have a good Friday everyone x

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Good morning Jackie O and all,

From a few days ago moaning that i was sleeping the clock round, i am now finding it hard to sleep.... would you believe it. At 2am i hadnt shut my eyes and i was awake with the birds this morning. My dreams in between were pretty vivid too.:)

All is well in the Judi household. MrJudi will be home tonight. He's had a tough week and i seriously hope we both have a better weekend than we did last weekend as we were both tired and grouchy.

Plans for today? Well vacuuming and dusting throughout is at the top of the agenda. Then i'll think about tea. Usually on a weekend i like to cook hubby what he likes as he lives on takeaways throughout the week.

    Have a great day everyone,

monsoon here  there is a red weather warning for this area and I can see why , I hope it doesnt flood as its forecast to last all day :(

off to meadowhall to do more holiday shopping with DD2. she hates shopping so leaves it late and then feels under pressure to get stuff and we all get stressed and grumbly  I have said we could have lunch there as a treat ( from my £2 coin savings :j - i love doing something we cant normally afford to do with my £2 savings rather than it go towards a bill or other mundane thing)

ive washed up , fed the guinea piggies - bless them they are so excited to see you and bounce about in excitement :D

hope everyone has a lovely day ( despite the weather) x

    Morning everyone,

sistercas fingers crossed for no flooding for you or for anyone, I live very near the river Trent and it looks quite full.

FS hope that your DD feels better soon, tonsilitis is horrible.

Hilstep glad that you enjoyed the proms.

Judi hope that you have a good weekend.

LW hope that your pain has eased.

    JackieO Happy Birthday to Holly.

JackieG and Lou good to hear from you both.

Really enjoyed the prom last night, the children looked absolutely lovely in their dresses and suits and were beautifully behaved. the food was great too especially the pudding!
I declined their invitation to go drinking in the park with them when the prom had finished.:D

DD1 is back from Germany. She has had a brilliant time and we will have a long sit down and catch up tonight as we only saw each other in passing last night and this morning.

Tea tonight is HM pizza, as usual.

Have a lovely day everyone and hope that you don't get too wet.:)
