Wife slips on spilt washing liquid on Tesco floor

Well, it is obvious that tesco have been negligent in this case. The man in charge of checking the floor for washing liquid every ten minutes has blatantly ignored this spill. You are entitled to compensation because your wife almost-fell-but-didn't-really!!
On a serious note, sarcasm aside, you are entitled to nothing. What more can they do but apologise? You do not know who spilled the liquid, or whether it was deliberately overlooked. I think vouchers are very generous.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Have you actually read the OP? They made no mention of compensation, they simply asked what the procedure was likely to be in these cases.
Don't judge everyone by your own poor standards.0 -

Cut my finger once in Tesco on a box of beer bottles, one bottle was smashed inside the box. I must say, they could not have been more helpful.0

I expect they know when they can be sued vince!!
I have found tesco staff to be pretty laid back, apart from the security guy who always thinks I am shoplifting.
"I have more class than to shoplift from a dump like this I told him!!"
Actually I didn't tell him but maybe I should one day. I did see them catch a shoplifter one day, Imagine the shame!!
If I ever get caught shoplifting it will from somewhere with a bit of class!
For a start it is much easier as they don@t expect it so much!!Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking, follow my thinking - fried_egg 2012

Nothing says your street cred is dead than being caught by a overweight Tesco security guard.
I too get the shifty looks when I enter a Tesco, I'm classified by many people I meet as "The last person I'd want to walk into in a dark ally", I'm big, got dermal piercings and very long multicoloured hair. But I always know that I'm not going to be stabbed in a Tesco by the amount of staff that magically appear each aisle and give me 'The Look', you can also see when I'm about to pass through the detectors on my way out the security guard putting his hands on the desk ready to pounce up if it buzzes.0 -
Any ideas what should happen next.we turned into the detergent aisle
Transfiguration. Get a part in the next J K Rowling film or start a magic show.
You may want to think about shopping where the customers are more considerate. (when they accidentally knock something on the floor they either pick it up or report it)0 -

This doesn't happen in any particular store, i've worked in sveral different retailers and only a handful will report anything and even then it's usually when a member of staff happens to be close enough to see it anyway. I watched a couple of ladies the other week open a showergel then somehow empty some of it onto the floor, comment on how slippery the floor was now, then walk out of the store.
Tesco will probably have some sort of floor walk procedure where aisles will be checked periodically throughout the day and signed off to show some sort of due dilligence to spills and items left on the floor, although it only takes a second or two for a customer to open something to smell it and pour it everywhere.0 -
Why is there never any spilt detergent in the washing up liquid aisle when i'm in Tesco ? It's my dream. I need a holiday but can't afford it.
Sorry OP, no offence meant, i'm joking really
I'm sure some people go around looking for things like this though ! I fell recently and damaged my knee quite badly. My fault, wasn't looking where i was putting my feet, but the number of people who have all said "are you putting in a claim ?" is ridiculous ! My fall was at work, i wouldn't dare claim !0
