Wife slips on spilt washing liquid on Tesco floor

Last Friday my wife and I were in our local Tescos when we turned into the detergent aisle and my wife slid on some washing liquid that was on the floor.
Fortunately I was within arms length and she grabbed hold of my arm to stop her falling
We are both in our late 60s and she had undergone an angogram at the local hospital only two days before.
She had pulled the musceles in her groin and whilst being painful it had also shaken her up and she was quite upset.
A manager came and she was obliged to walk to Customer Services at the other end of the store, where she was given a chair.
An accident report was filled in and we are promised a copy.
Sorry all round!!!
We went home and she spent the remainder of the day in bed, also most of Saturday.
Did not go to A & E or our doctors as it appeared to be a strain.
Getting better every day, competing in the Olympics soon.
Last night "a nice lady" from Tesco H Q rang to see if she was alright.
There, there......glad you are better, kiss, kiss. "Copy of accident report will be sent to you". Goodbye .
Any ideas what should happen next.

You'll prob get some vouchers with the report to keep you sweet. The report will list the person who was in charge of the area, and will say what they've done to make sure it wont happen again.
My Mum slipped on a calli leaf (she's the reason Morri's have the non-slip mats round the flowers) in the flowers section and beggered up all her cartlidge in her knee. Had to have key-hole surgery (taking like 16 years since). She had to fight tooth and nail to get any money out of them, and for them to admit liability (even though the store manager had and it was in accident book yadah yadah.
I would wait till they send the report, if you don't get anything (good will voucher most probable) contact them and tell them how 'dissapointed' you are. They do after all need to offer you some form of recompense for you and your poor wife.
Hope she's feeling a little better.Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140 -

If I'd slipped on a child, I'd obviously have made sure it was OK before I carried on...0 -

Do they?
Firstly I wish ops wife well in her recovery.
But not all accidents merit financial recompense. And whether tesco have an obligation to offer compensation would depend on other factors. Whether they had been negligent for example or whether they had reasonable opportunity to prevent it.
For example if I spill some juice on the floor and 30 seconds later somebody slips, unless tesco was aware of the hazard they wouldn't necessarily be held responsible for the accident.0 -
This reminds me of the time I was in Morrisons and decided to munch on one of the bananas off the bunch I was having, I gave my little lad the second half and he sneaked the skin under the edge of the shelving instead of giving it back to me and I was shopping so didn't see where it went. That evening my sister went to Morrisons and rang me after her shopping trip to tell me she had gone on her backside on a banana skin and was fuming at the selfish pigs who couldn't be bothered to use the bins - and couldn't understand why was laughing my head off at her, needless to say that when she found out she was less than impressed!0

I slipped at old work place years ago on and never did anything about it hit my head etc.Have permanent damage to my legs found out couple of years later had whiplash trapped nerves tightened muscles etc.All because they couldn't be bothered to put a wet floor sign up.I would just go to doctor just in case there theres lasting damage might not just be a strain. Also I would shop somewhere else vote with your feet.0
