Good morning bargainbird and everyone,
i really feel like ive turned a corner where the meds are concerned. Ive been on them for 9 days now and i am feeling human again.... Long may it continue! I just need to start taking my BP again to see if its working as it should.
Rain, rain and more rain. Will we ever see the back of it? I want some summer and i want it NOW!
Not got much planned for today though i'm going through my paperwork to see what can be chucked. Chinny needs cleaning out but son can do that before he goes out.
Have a happy and productive day everyone. :-)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Yesterday was an OS washout (thought got rid of some rubbish) and today is not likely to be much better.
:o:o I have to wash because little bear needs clean uniform. Otherwise, I am here as a fraud and just checking in to give hugs to all
Hester Also, I think the union rep must have been quite brave to be poking into someone's private life. Perhaps you could have cheered her up with drawing diagrams for her.

camelot good luck with the test, they make me laugh which is rather awkward!
((hugs)) lw hilstep bramble and all who need them.
Morning all. Weather looks quite nice today, hopefully approved food turn up soon so I can go out and enjoy it. I need to switch back to our old energy supplier today, apparently we have a very weird meter so most don't have a tarrif for us. Using the old tariff I worked out we've used <£30 in five weeks and that includes everything as we don't have gas. I'll be a happy bunny if we can keep it that low
Need to tidy up a bit today, clean the bathrooms.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Morning all
BB good luck with new cleaning job. How do you get them?
JackieO we had salmon the other night as we had a visitor who likes it and it was delicious. Must cook it more often!
HH LOL!
Tappers have a nice day off.
Judi glad you are feeling better.
OH had a retirement workshop yesterday afternoon. LOL! He is still waiting to hear if he is getting voluntary redundancy and at 61 in October he has made up his mind to go. Most of their operation is leaving our town, but his dept were taken off risk a month or so ago and are under review next year so the inevitable is only being postponed. Think he wants to to go sooner rather than later.
I cooked lasagne last night and there is some left for DS so will probably cook something tonight that we like but he doesn't so he is catered for. Maybe bean curry or liver.
I am torn between going into town to look at new bedding or doing lots of washing. There is one large load in the machine at the moment so might hang that out and compromise by heading off.
Anyway hugs and kind thoughts all round. Have a good day.

Good morning All - two days posting in a row!
DH has lost appetite pretty much, so was able to freeze about half of the minced pork, pepper and tomato last night - will do with either jacket potatoes or spaghetti for another meal maybe next week.
Washing waiting for me to decide whether to put it out/bring it in/put it out all day or just go on airiers in the conservatory!
Having my hair done later this morning, and need to get the bread maker on before I go.
Having tea with a friend and then a meeting this evening, so "busy" day for me!
Hilstep, I do hope they sort you out soon - it must be so frustrating, as well as painful with all these falls.
HH - oh yes, another one here who'd have liked to see union rep's face if you'd answered just a wee bit more fully!
DH has just informed me that his cousin's daughter who's coming from the US next week has just asked if we can put up a friend as well for a couple of nights. He was really worried I'd flip - I must be being a bit of a c%w lately!! So, two rooms to sort out before next Thursday then! Actually it won't do any harm to have a deadline there. I needed motivation to get cracking - and here it is!
Hope you all have good days today - and ((HUGS)) to any who need them just now.
Take care.Resolution:

miffy - bump is growing well. causing me no end of grief mind. measuring on the large side  still struggling with keeping my bp down. it does seem to be stress related saying that. i worry too much about things apparently... was awake at 2am this morning in need of some pain relief. i rrolled over and my pelvis felt like it was going to crack but stopped halfway  then felt like i had trapped something
still it is feeling a bit better this morning just a bit dead. a friend has twisted my arm and persuaded me to go swimming this morning  i have agreed in desperation at getting some relief from this constant pain in my back and legs. anyone who really knows me will know i must be desperate
:rotfl: anyway must go and get ready... thanks for thinking of me

Hi all.
I'm Word.doc-ing again today, before I post.;) Bit better night last night, thanks to Oramorph, but Mr LW had to get up at stupid o'clock to kick off a vital process from home before going into the office. It looks like he'll also have to either stay late, or else log in from home this evening, so looks like we won't be able to attend tonight's Mensa meeting after all.:( I've just emailed the LocSec (local secretary) to warn him we probably won't be there.
Sybil many thanks for the info on UTIs and falls – I honestly had no idea!:o
Jackieg :wave:good to “see” you – I wondered where you'd got to! My phone doesn't do internet (actually, it barely works at all, it's about 6 years old and in dire need of a new battery) but I do have no less that six internet-enabled devices of various types in the lounge with me!:DHardup_Hester wrote: »Our union rep was sent to ask if I was doing everything I could to help hubby relax in the evenings (neither of us are in the union, but it was assumed she's have the people skills to ask the question) I was very good, I closed my lips firmly against all the ribald answers that came to me & explained that I sat up with him for an hour or so after I had collected him to give him chance to talk about his day & offload some of the stress. aren't you all very proud of me for not detailing some of the things I do to help him relax?
Lou good to “see” you – well done for agreeing to go swimming (says she who can't actually swim).:D
I have no idea what Pinterest is, that seems to have been mentioned recently, and am rather reluctant to ask, as I really don't need another time-sink!:D And as for the “C” word *puts fingers in ears * I can't hear you..... la la la la LA LA LA:whistle::whistle::whistle:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Thanks for the giggle!
Being a bit cynical (moi?) I wonder if the reason for visit was not so much concern for staff welfare but so they could say DH was being monitored and managing any stress. Possibly worried his health suffers as a result of the pressure they pile on him and a claim could be made in future.
Came down early and made dd a cheese salad sarnie, yoghurt and cereal bar packup to take to work. Loaded dishwasher etc.
Had phone call from dd (26) and wished her luck with job interview at 11 and promised to keep fingers, legs and eyes crossed. It is with company she already works at but feel she would be more appreciated and use her skills better in another dept. Gosh I am becoming diplomatic all of a sudden.;)
Made DH and me egg and toast and home made soup that youngest requested for lunch is on a simmer. She asked for something healthy but yummy so carrot soup with home grown basil and parsley is cooking. DH says we do not have coriander this year which is a pity.
I made lasagne yesterday as well and we have some for lunch and will make an oriental stir fry with chicken and noodles tonight.
Got a few YS items yesterday- salmon fillets, couple of smoked trout, small piece of lamb and some chicken thighs- all now frozen in garage freezer which fingers crossed, no longer floods.
Going to keep youngest company downstairs and keep an eye on the soup.
Told DH I planned on fish pie tomorrow and he is gobsmacked that I have become so enthusiastic about cooking. Pointed out that now we moved house we have a bigger and better planned kitchen, appliances that work and best of all I am not overlooked at the kitchen sink or at the front of the house anymore and feel much happier and secure.
Hugs to all and see you later."This site is addictive!"
