O/S Daily Thread Thursday 5th July

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 3rd July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning BB & all who cross/follow
Fish fed, baskets watered, DW loaded.
Off to work soon, hubby didn't get home 'til 10 & has to go back at 10 this morning to supervise the temps.
I'm hoping for a calmer day today, I don't mind work being busy, but do object to being told 'Suck my d***' by a student! Needless to say I declined his kind offer.
Our union rep was sent to ask if I was doing everything I could to help hubby relax in the evenings (neither of us are in the union, but it was assumed she's have the people skills to ask the question) I was very good, I closed my lips firmly against all the ribald answers that came to me & explained that I sat up with him for an hour or so after I had collected him to give him chance to talk about his day & offload some of the stress. aren't you all very proud of me for not detailing some of the things I do to help him relax?
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone

HH - you did very well not to tell the union lady exactly what you do to relax, but I wish like BB that you had and I'd been a fly on the wall to see her reaction!!

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Overcast, dull and raining steadily, very wet underfoot. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Dinner last night was stew, dumplings, mash and veg - typical I plan a heavier type meal and it was so humid but dinner was enjoyed and there was clean plates all round. Tonight I'm not really sure, but there's only me and DH. Possibly something to use up stuff out of the fridge, may be omlette etc.

Have the normal round of chores to do and looks like I'll have to use the TD - but did manage to get a load dried on the line yesterday afternoon.

    Will be back later.

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Morning all, can't believe it's not raining here but no doubt it will at some point. Off to school in a minute, my class are off to the Junior school for the morning so can get on with some admin work. DD is cooking, she is really trying hard to find a job but so far no luck and is feeling very fed up. Hugs to all in need, had to laugh at your union rep asking that HH you should have told her!!!!! Hope LW and Hilstep feel better and that Bramble is doing OK. Nice to see you posting JackieG and Loulou if you're reading give us an update on your bump please. Hope eveyone has a good day:):)

    Good Morning All

Bright sunshine here and warm and sticky. Lots to do today as ever. Also have MIL over to drop off DD's birthday present as she is on holiday next week. Hopefully she wont stay long, I know that sounds awful but if you met her :rotfl:

The Olympic torch comes to our local town tomorrow so we need to be up very early to get a chance to see it - have warned the kids :D

Not sure what to have for dinner tonight, DD is working so she wont want anything, DS is off round a friends so just OH & me - think have some pork shanks in the freezer from Aldi so may try them.

Off out this morning errand running, will fit some housework in and some ironing.

    Have a great day all.x

    Morning All

HH - Next time just tell her how you relax, would love to see her face!!
Taplady - I know what you mean about a drying day, washing isn't the same dried indoors, especially bedding.

Had a terrible nights sleep last night, I think I have got so tired that I can't sleep. I was reading at 4am for an hour or so and then only slept again for an hour. Went to see Angels' Share last night which was really good, I would recommend it.

Not sure what's for tea, DD is working 3-7 and I am at the Hospice from 4-6 and then at work at 7 so we may have to have something for lunch instead of tea. Anyway, got to get going, am going for the dreaded smear test this morning (just 4 months after I got the letter!!). Take care. XX

    Morning everyone,

Hilstep and LW hope you feel better soon.

Hester next time she asks tell her the truth, I bet she won't ask again.:D

Taplady shame about the craft club.

Camelot I absolutely hate going for a smear test, it is not helped by the fact that the nurse that does it is a friend and chats away as if we were having a coffee!

Got absolutely soaked on the way home from work yesterday. Even though I had an umbrella and I sheltered under a tree the rain was so heavy that I was dripping!!!!!

It is the year 11 prom from my school tonight and as I am a tutor I am going along, really looking forward to seeing them all in their finery.

DD1 gets back from Germany tonight as well, I have missed her a lot more than I thought I would, I will be glad to have her back. She seems to have had a brilliant time.

Tea tonight is LO chilli for everyone else and a posh meal at the prom for me!

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)
