Urgent help required - car won't start!

Can anyone help me please?

Car won't start.
I need to go to work
It's full of petrol.
Engine turns over, but car just won't start.

... and no, my breakdown cover doesn't include breakdowns within a mile of home

Any advice gratefully received. I'm such a blonde when it comes to mechanical things.

what car is it, what engine it etc?

is it turning over normally? is there any noises/lights?

worst case scenario are you able to push it or tow it to the mile mark?

Yes it's turning over when I turn the key. Not making any unusual noises apart from the usual noise it makes when I attempt to start it.

No lights on - its still daylight here!

I can't push this car a mile ...

I've tried the spare key and that doesn't start the car either.
My neighbour has a golf too, Do you think I should ask to try theirs?

Talk to the AA and upgrade to Home Start to get them to come out.

I'm with the RAC. Do you think they will allow me to upgrade for £49 and then fit me a new starter motor for free?
