This one is trotted out again and again and is based on a misunderstanding of the legislation, which actually says that a pregnant woman can't be prosecuted for urinating in a public place under public decency laws.

Oh dear. I'm pregnant, would love to see the look on my OH's face if I tried this one, not to mentioned the random bypassers :rotfl:

By Law - bank charges are illegal and are an unfair contract term.

@Nicki and Gigglepig significant new rights under the Equality Act 2010 were given to pregnant women and new mothers (maternity) - both now protected characteristics.
Its a "brave decision"(Yes Minister mode) from an official who allows people with with one protected characteristic (disability) access to toilets but would refuse another group.

What is the biggest load of claptrap you've ever heard someone say, starting with the words "By law,....."?

I have a work colleague who regularly starts a sentence with "by law.........." or "happened to a friend of mine .........." - when I hear those words being uttered from his mouth I shut off immediately, because its all a load of complete twaddle.

This incident happened before the Equality Act Sobraon, but even if it had hadn't, it wouldn't make a difference. There isn't anything as far as I can see in the Act which says that as a business owner you have to allow anyone, whether disabled or not, access to your toilets, but it would of course be unfair to allow access to non disabled people but not the disabled or pregnant.

One that I have heard trotted out time and time again... 'By law i don't have to let him see his kid, cos he doesn't pay me anything'

Will they never learn that 2 wrongs don't make a right!

Although from a safety point of view it is probably a good idea not to have a cat loose in the car.... the one time i did this (not deliberately - he escaped from his box) he got down by my feet and i was very worried and panicky....never again! Houdini cat has extra security when on the way to the vets nowdays!
