Worth a call to Virginmedia?

It is all very well saying leave Virginmedia cable and going to ADSL but when all you are going to get is less than 2Mbps is it even worth considering?

You cannot receive 2Mbps ADSL
You cannot receive 1Mbps ADSL
You can receive 512kbps ADSL
You can receive 256kbps ADSL

You are approximately 3.15km from the exchange. Note that this is the straight line distance - the actual cable length will be longer!


And as for moving house, the only way I am leaving this house is in a box.

I didn't say leave, i just said beware of a long commitment, given your user name and your last comment though, if you are over your current minimum term then call them up and see what they can do for you

. I would recommend going with a company that does not lock you in to a minimum contract. My provider has no minimum contract period, charges just £5.99 pcm for the broadband, and £13.75 for the phone line, (and I also get free landline calls, free calls to some mobiles, and free calls to 10 international destinations)

Hi guys,

I had to jump onto this thread as I rang up today asking to cancel my XL-telephone line & M-broadband. But the nice lady on the other side said she'll give me 60M broadband, XL-telephone line for £25.40 + an engineer is coming out to install 'superhub' for £15 is it a good deal.
