I am sick gto death of reading the public comments penned by people foaming at the mouth about something they know really nothing about save for what they have seen/read in the media. They both committed the crimes, they were both convicted, they both paid the price of losing their lives by being incarcerated for most of it and Brady will eventually die in gaol. Is that enough?
There are violent killers and sex offenders around these days who when sentenced, never get a sentence anything like Hindley and Brady and nor do they endure such public venom.
This is why many members of the public are unfit to sit on jurys. Because they lack intelligence and are too prone to irrational and emotional outbursts.
Let him be and let him die.
He is entitled to the same health care as anyone else and im sure that those delivering it,will do that professionally.
If he goes in the wrong NHS hospital,he can be assured a premature death anyway..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
You don't quite get the physical behaviour of the moor - you can bury anything one day and go back the next and it wouldn't be in the exact same place. He was taken back at least 3 times to my knowledge and on each occasion has pointed out the same markers....they now bear no relevance to where Keith Bennett's body lies.
No, because then he gets what he wants, to escape from the guilt. And he has been on suicide watch since he was admitted to Ashworth. The staff there are exceptional.
What good is it doing to wish that he stays alive and suffers? It's never, ever going to bring back the children he took.
The world will be a better place without him.£608.98

Whilst I may, or may not agree with the main thrust of your argument I find your first sentence and your last sentence to smack of your own agenda or prejudices, the very same ones you accuse others of in your middle para.
I am not critiscing you for it we all have these rational or irrational predjuces, it is just that some of us also recognise them in ourselves as well as others.;)0 -

Winnie is asking where her son is buried...Has anyone ever walked on the vast expanse of the saddleworth moors? I know it well. It is vast, featureless and forever changing thanks to the soft peaty soil. Can a man really remember that far back? There have been several fruitless visits and searches..He is hardly in any position to go yomping on the moors now..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). As a retired nurse, I would not let my personal feelings about the man influence my care of him.
It isn't my place to judge him, his judgement was handed down by the law many years ago.
A nurse's job is to give the best care he or she can to each patient impartially, whatever his or her personal feelings.

Interesting thread. I enjoyed reading everyone's opinions.
For me I would treat him as I would any other patient. By refusing to treat him or administering any treatment in a undignified way would just make me as bad him. He did such evil things, I would never allow for myself to be on the same level as someone like him by withholding care/treatment. That would make me a bad person. We are a civilised society in whole, if everyone took the stance of no treatment etc then we lose our grasp on that civilised society.Save 8k in 2013: Member #100

I wouldn't take care when Moving him or injecting him, but l would make sure he lived so he could go back to jail alive to continue his miserable existence for as long as possible.
He isn't in gaol. If he were he would have been dead long ago as his hunger strike would have been successful.0 -
As someone who has worked in the Healthcare profession. I have treated many prisoners, some pretty unpleasant individuals (one hospital was next door to a prison). My opinion is and always was as a professional you do your job to the best of your ability (otherwise why are you in that job?). You are not there to make moral judgements.
Yes I may not like the people and think they are the lowest of the low but I was there to do a professional job which is what I did and what i would do.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

As another member of the healthcare profession I too would also treat him as any other patient. You have to. Before going into any of the professions you know this situation may occur. Indeed I have looked after a well known criminal so I have experienced this myself. But although Brady has done some truly horrific things, it is certainly not mine, or any other professionals place to judge. Where would it end? We could refuse to treat so many people! The alcoholic who has just beaten his wife, the sweet little old lady who's children said she abused them as kids, the woman that's come in with an infection post abortion (yes I've seen a colleague who wanted not to look after this out patient due to her beliefs and though she deserved it!). I'm not saying its always easy looking after everyone equally, but as a caring professional you have to get on with the job at hand.:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j
