You have done so well Stacey and I'm not surprised that you found the going tough. I am trying to get that balance in our family life/MFW journey and it's hard. There is a lot to be said in living for now and as you still have an eye to the future I'm sure you will find a balance that you are happy with. Good luck.

I was wondering where your diary had gone, I hadn't seen any updates lately. I see you've been on blogspot so hope you're well and might be back for an update soon!

  • HELLO!

Sorry I have been absent, Oh I have so much to tell you, but the condensed version is:

Both kids had chickenpox, my son was really bad with it, daughter not so bad with it but developed croup and then needed steroids.
    Both got better.
Went on holiday in a caravan for a week in Dawlish.
    Came back.
Quit evening job, I was struggling getting to bed at 1-2am and up at 6.30am.
Even a mortgage isn't worth that.
Phone call from sister to say her long term partner is being sent to Germany for 2 years (he is in the Army).
    Shocked.
Then she said she is going too as they can't be apart.
    Very shocked & crying.
Then she said this means they need to get married in 6 weeks.
    Extremely shocked & crying.
    Had birthday.
Helped plan hen night & wedding.
Found out someone close to the family has the big 'c', badly :-(.
Had hen night - was amazing.
    Wedding on 16th.
    Today.

    Yes - Phew!

BUT I have still been paying off the mortgage like a trooper - you would be so proud. I have been listing my weekly savings on my blog.

Since I started the weekly savings in May, 14 weeks ago I have saved a total of £1426.33. The mortgage balance is now £91724 (down from the initial £97500 in Oct).
I have shaved 1 year 7 months off of my term & saved £5966 in interest!:T

So I have been doing well despite the absence. I have been spending quite a lot too recently and have noticed a direct correlation between spending more and not coming on here so I am back, getting motivated again, reading others diaries for tips to save and hoping being back again will make me spend less!

I hope everyone else is ok - I will try and find a few minutes to come and read your diaries and catch up on what I have missed!

A big thank you to Beckyy, tootoo & Muser1 for your comments :-)

Wow, you are really doing amazing, specially with everything you've had to deal with recently.

Hope your babies are both OK now and life is good for you all.
