Thankyou so much tootoo & CathT I am so happy! Hi Stacey
I have been enjoying your posts since the beginning.
I have a question for you, how do you get paid for Blogs? This is something I'm interested in doing. Can you offer any wise words?
Many thanks and long may these posts continue :T
Sam0 -
Thanks Sam,
The money that I earnt was from a competition that Moneysupermarket were running. They asked you to write a post including 30 ways to save £1 and they would pay £30 to the first 500 people who wrote such a post and sent them a link.
I have adverts on my blog but these make me about 50p a month so not a lot! To be honest I write my blog because I enjoy it - anything else is a bonus. There are lots of websites that write specifically about how to monetise your website - I would search for those.
So on top of the savings this week as previously reported I managed to save £3 from a pinecone survey and £2.75 in cash from the purse.
This brings the totals to:
Cash sealed tin:
£7.75 total
Online sealed tin:
£367.08 total
£374.83 total for the week!
This will be split 299.85 mortgage OP (80%) & £37.48 each to house move fees and family fun (10%ea).
£700.00 May Target Revised from £300 to £700:)!
£ 32.83 Less Week 1 Savings
£ 90.85 Less Week 2 Savings
£374.83 Less Week 3 Savings
£201.49 To go!
Really happy with the progress this week and hope that next week will be just as great even if the amounts are smaller!
Hope everyone else is getting on ok.

Hello everyone!
Very sorry I haven't updated in a while - fear not, I have still been OP'ing like a woman possessed!
So here is a very shortened version of what has happened since I last posted:
I have been getting more and more run down surviving on 4-5 hours sleep on the nights I work (2-4 nights a week)
I have been OP'ing a little too much - yes you can OP too much, our fun family life was lacking somewhat.
Husband suggested we concentrate on the now and enjoy the moment and make this house as close to our dream as possible and not think about upsizing until the kids are quite a bit older. I agreed.
I handed my notice in at my job the following day (still two weeks notice to work).
Still very tired but can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.
Daughter got chicken pox, them got croup and the had to have steroids as the croup didn't get better.
Son has been very bored and hyperactive as we couldn't go out.
Husband and I chatted again now we know I am not working. His pay rise should ensure that we meet all our obligations & still have enough money to have fun and take the kids out now and then & live for the now.
We still very much are committed to being mortgage free but are now putting no pressure or targets on this date and instead aim simply to OP as much as we can whilst still living life to the full.
Living to this mantra for the last few weeks has proved very fruitful to the mortgage OP's and fun!
Husband had laid two patios saving around £1300 on the quote price.
Our garden is now usable for the first time since we moved in last October. I can't describe how excited the kids & I are!
I have set up a specific blog to track my mortgage free journey (I have changed the URL in my profile if you want to see). I have also set up a mortgage free Facebook page - link on my homepage.
I am aiming to blog on this and a few other blogs (different subjects) and see if over time I can actually create these into income streams to help overpay the mortgage.
Phew!
I will update with some figures shortly but I have now saved over £5,000 in interest so I am staying focused for the long haul as I want this figure to rise!
