Thanks nollbolla. You are actually a stage ahead of us then as we are trying to overpay the mortgage as quick as possible so that we can buy the forever home and then start all over again!

I really don't think I am inspirational, everything I do everyone else could do, people are saving lots more than I am, I am just doing what I can do. But I do really appreciate comments like yours as they keep me motivated.

    Further update for today:
Received £30 for one blog post!!!! :D:D:D (will update totals later as not at PC).
Spent approx £40 on holiday clothes for the kids.
    Spent approx £22 in mcdonalds
Had a lovely day with the kids though and lots of fun had. All have budgets to come out of so no unbudgeted spends but will definately be keeping a close eye on the purse for the rest of the month!

Off to entertain the kids and start tea!!

    Hello everyone!!

So glad to be back to a normal day after spending time with hubby & the kids the last 5. I absolutely love our family time when we are together, but I lose all sense of routine and suddenly the blinkers go on, spending starts and all hell breaks loose (in a mfw way!).

So good things that have happened today:
    • Received the £30 for blog post in paypal and withdrew it to bank.
    • Received £3 luncheon voucher in the post & changed PC payment method to paypal.
    • Withdrew £15 to paypal from swagbucks.
    • Looked at meal plan and will do some 'using up what we have' batch cooking tonight to make sure I have some quick meals to hand.
HF online banking system is annoying me a bit. It says the mortgage statement is correct as at yesterday yet it is missing a £40 overpayment from the middle of last month and the regular standing order from the 1st! Not sure whether to keep ringing up each time or just wait and see if it gets sorted. The £40 OP was made on the 23rd April and when I phoned he said he could see it and it was definately in the account their end.

    This weeks savings so far

    Cash sealed tin:
    £6.00 O/Bal
    £6.00 total

    Online sealed tin:
    £0.95 O/Bal
    £10.50 trf'd from contingency
    £11.45 total

    £17.45 grand total.
(Paypal £30 not recorded yet as not in my bank account)

I am liking my new system of keeping track of my savings weekly and OP'ing once a week. However I feel I need a goal to keep me on the straight & narrow and not spend my wages earmarked for OP'ing.

So my goal for the month of may is to save £300 (to be split 80:10:10).

    £300.00 May Target
    £32.83 Less Week 1 Savings
    £17.45 Less Week 2 Savings
    £249.72 To go!

I really enjoy blogging, it lets me share what I am doing and often give my opinion on things. I feel really motivated to stick to our goals and save money as I have to report back to you guys and write about my progress on my blog!

Really hoping I can meet my target this month, off to read a few inspirational diaries on here x

Pinecone have stopped paying in LVs they're now allocating it as points. Haven't worked out how to access the points as money yet!
