Thankyou Southerndave - I love your diary too and find it a great source of inspiration.
Thankyou to all the lurkers & thankers for reading too! Keep focused & OP'ing guys - we can do it!!
Update for today - not a huge amount to report, as per most of you we have the mid month slump. Still nothing coming out of my bank - we really must be sticking to our budget as there are just no pennies to OP!!
Anyway I found a simple little 1p which was in a savings account no longer used (interest - so free money:rotfl:).
So TRF'd the 1p to the online pending savings.
Also had £1.80 in cash (change from a takeaway) so put this in the tin.
New total £116.49 + £20.10 cash tin = £136.59.
£136.59/£319.61 (£183.02 to go for this months ambitious target!)
So after the *cough cough* spends last night we have:
£17.62 Purse balance for this week (to last 5 days) NSD yesterday.
£30.00 In purse for the following week until payday (9 days)
£10.00 in purse back up money - hope to save.
(Fuel money currently in bank - budget £40).
Ebay update -
Ending Saturday - 9 Items / 2 Watchers / £0.00 Bids.
Ending Sunday - 4 Items / 95 Watchers / £5.50 Bids.
Still no HF login - maybe today??? So excited to make my first adhoc OP!
Think thats all for today. Might wander into town today which I am sure will result in spending a few £'s but will try and keep it low spend. Need to get out of the house with the kids!
Happy Weds everyone!
Stacey x2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.
Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(0 -
Its here!!!!!!!!!!
Even better my online mortgage balance is £95,750.89 compared to my spreadsheet balance of £95828.03 which is £77.14 less :j.
Just about to make a £10 OP to check it works ok...

Hi Stacey, still loving your diary. Did you just phone up regarding the online mortgage account? We have just transferred to the H*lif*x and I would love to be able to check the figure on line. xxMortgage Jan 13 99260.00 87253 April 2017

Hi Muser1!
Halifax had very recently changed their systems so I just went onto their website, registered for their online banking using the info on my documents and they set the login info through the post. Very easy.
Hope you can do yours too.

Morning All,
Had another takeaway last night, been planned for a while. However as we were paying I cooked some sausages we had in the freezer and we just bought two large portions of chips from the chippy. This meant that our £10 budget gave us £5.20 in change and this was put straight into the tin.
Still no payments coming out of bank.
New total £116.49 + £25.30 cash tin = £141.79.
£141.79/£319.61 (£177.82 to go for this months ambitious target!)
So new balances are:
£17.62 Purse balance for this week (to last 4 days) NSD yesterday.
£30.00 In purse for the following week until payday (9 days)
(Fuel money currently in bank - budget £40).
Of the £116.49 pending savings online, I OP'd £10 yesterday direct to the mortgage **first ever ad hoc payment**.
I checked this morning and this was showing and reduced the capital which was great. So now I know that it works I sent the other £106.49 over to the mortgage account. Yey!!
Ebay update - 2nd batch doing well.
Ending Saturday - 9 Items / 2 Watchers / £0.00 Bids.
Ending Sunday - 4 Items / 112 Watchers / £25.00 Bids.
Was a NSD yesterday in the end which was good but do have to get a few bits at Lidl today.
Oh also earnt 23p from my blog yesterday!
Anyway off back to the real world, so happy I can actually OP and see a real balance coming down - just off now to try and reconcile the s/sheet to the mortgage account.

Hi Stacey
Just wanted to congratulate you on your very inspirational diary. I am lucky in that we have now paid off our mortgage and we did it in much the same way as you by saving for a significant deposit and then overpaying throughout the term whenever it was possible.
