  • what I really wanted was the pink kettle/toaster set, heavily reduced, it was there on the sale list up to couple minutes before my slot started then disappeared, sob! :) most of what I had written down had gone, but did get the lemon denim jacket I wanted for me, and dark denim jacket and a skirt for DD, got the Henry Hoover car vac and cufflinks for hubbys stocking, but the boxers etc all gone, but did pretty well!

i had a slot yesterday morning and noticed the set was gone, i re booked one for this morning and managed to get it.

thanks Flygirlltd! glad you got one, may have to do the same! :)

I also emailed them and received a very nice phone call confirming 2 of my 3 delivery charges refunded as I placed 3 orders, very pleased with the fact they took the time to call and the very good customer service, Next are doing a really good job on that front :)

Since I didn't get a slot I am heading to the Belfast store for 5am!

Does anyone have any experience of going this early! I've never been and don't know what to expect!

Get there at 4 - don't bother with a handbag, I just take my cards and phone in a money belt or safe pocket.
Take 2 bags when they pass them round outside just in case.
Be ready to walk very fast towards the section you want, take more than you need off the rails and then sort it out if you need to. Everything goes in the blink of an eye, especially the kids stuff!
Oh and take a friend if you can :)

    Good luck!

MY EXPERIENCE LAST YEAR WAS HAD TO BE THERE BY AROUND 4am I personally do not take anything and everything I only take what I am likely to buy. I dont personally want to be siefting through it all (i see loads of people doing this). I dont think it is fair when people do this as it stops other people from being able to get those items that you may not want as no one really puts it back on the rails.

I have always gone and got there fairly early and got a good place in the queue I have had no problem in obtaining things by being selective at the beginning my experience is that the people who normally just grab the lot of the rails are very rude and push past you as if they own the shop. Again dont bother with handbag it will hold you back. Just take a card in with you so you dont have to rummage around and try to keep hold of a bag.

Your descriptions of the actual sale at 5am sound a little scary. I'm hoping to get there for about 5.30 as I live an hour away from the store but I have to take the double buggy as my OH works a really early shift and won't be home.... bit scared of having them there if it is a scramble for the racks! But because of that I'm not worried if I don't get loads of stuff, and we're going to the aquarium afterwards which we've been looking forward to for ages :)

It is a scramble and the local shop to my sister i usually frequent however this year I am not going to this one. There is a particular group of parents that come out in their hundreds and descend on the store - dont get me wrong I have nothing against anyone whatever ethnic, religion or anything going. But they do tend to show themselves up they had buggies piled sky high with stuff they had just grabbed and was going to sort through i even saw a couple actually lifting clothes off the whole rail about 200 items and putting it ontop of a pram they obviously didnt want them all they wanted to sieft. I wont be going to this store again as they were jostling and pushing everyone out of the way. I feel for the lady who has to take a double buggy as our local stores are normally packed and no one cares whether you have a child or two they will shove you out of the way so you have to be very firm and hold your ground.
