    Hi everyone.

My head's a total shed today (probably due to lack of sleep + excess of stress) so I'm going to type my reply on a Word document first.;)

Hester that reaction sounds awful – the cynic in me suggests you're allergic to all the carp you have to put up with at work.

Hilstep (((gentle hug))) and much sympathy – I think I'm getting similar rubbish from my lupus. Hang on in there mate, and hope for an improvement very soon.:o

Moorhen I love the sound of your mum's cast – great that she's upbeat enough to choose something bright like that. Great news too that she doesn't have to undergo an op.:o

Sillyinthepast and GraceJamesMum welcome to the thread! Make yourselves at home – you'll love it here.
I'm another one who gets hay fever, but it's not been quite so bad since I've been buying honey from a local beekeeper. He's actually a very pleasant German chap, who sells at the Farmers Market – I get beeswax polish and candles from him, too.:o

Mr LW actually didn't get any calls last night, after being woken at 02:00 and 03:00 respectively the previous two nights. But he was still fixing systems all evening:( (though we did manage to scoot off into town and get his hair cut in the afternoon, so he no longer looks like a hippy);) and he didn't finish up til 23:30 last night. He's on late shift today, so gods only know what time he'll be home.
Luckily I made quiche yesterday and we're having the 2nd half of it for dins today. We've been scratching our heads to try and work out what deities he might have offended recently.:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I've been full of good intentions so far today but haven't actually done much about them :o

I've been off work several weeks now with an infection. I spent a week in hospital but am supposed to be going back to work on Thursday and want to get the house in some order before I go - but someone has nicked my get up and go.

MSE wise I am planning a nsd and doing a store cupboard challenge. I know I'll be going on half pay for some of my time off but not sure if it'll be half or three quarters of it - will find out on payday

So salmon fillets in lime and coriander with salad and new potatoes for dinner and I may make some meringues and fill with cream and fresh fruit. I will pop a loaf in the breadmaker-want to experiment with rye and caraway seed.

sounds like a delicious meal Gintot!:)

just having a lunch break before heading off to my main job.

    take care x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • That meal sounds wonderful gintot - I could eat it right now!

So, I have so far managed to take 2 lunch breaks in a row - very proud of myself! I have also brought packed lunches with me too so that saves me a bit of money.

Im going to pop to M0rris0n today to pick up a couple of bits - I do have a list to stick too though!

OS wise, I put the dark washing on before work, there wasnt enough light washing for a load so I will leave that until later in the week to save wasting water/powder.

Dinner tonight will be sausages and vegetables - I picked up some nice cheap veg in L!dl yesterday.

    Have a great day everyone!

    xxx

That reaction sounds scary, hope you are better now.

Only one dd home today and DH pottering in garden so enjoying the peace.

DH dug out some new potatoes for a potato salad tonight and will add spiced chicken pieces or sausages to it for a quick meal.

We need to go look at new shower stuff but he keeps changing his mind. We both decided that if bathroom was in need of moving round to sort out bodge of previous owner then we might as well swop the bath for a much bigger walk in shower with a low edge to it so easier if one of us hurts a leg or is ill or something in the future.

He will say he does not like something when we visit a showroom but then has no idea why so everyone left perplexed. Warmed up home made chicken pie and mash for lunch as he came in saying he was hungry - said it would be five minutes- no sign of him in house or in back garden. Eventually just ate mine and when he finally ambled in told him his meal was in microwave grrh!!!!

Going to visit another showroom this afternoon - oh joy!

Window cleaner just arrived so need to look out his money after getting changed as am just out of shower. DH never seems to have change on him and relies on me to provide it.

    Hugs to all

Elona, that was our thinking when we had our bathroom refitted last year. We still have a bath, but it only gets used about once a month! This is our shower - it's a wet room type base with mosaic tiles & a small edge to keep the water in, and a clear glass screen. piccies PM me if you want to know anything about the base - it's a kit from a local showroom.

Hi all, another newbie to this!

Change in financial circumstances has meant we need to cut finances wherever possible, since we are tied into contracts on utilities, broadband and mobiles, I figured meal planning and old style is the way to go!

Anyhow, today I was about to throw out a third of a loaf of bread which wasn't fresh enough for sandwiches. However, when I thought that it would be OK for toast, I decided to toast it and whizz into breadcrumbs; previously we've always bought them!

Between us DH and I have made a pie from our LO chicken from Sunday. Usually we'd get a small chicken, leaving very little LO except for a couple of meals for DS (2yo) but this week purchased a large and we now have 4 large adult pies as well.

Done a lot of washing OS too, hand-washing, though not through choice but rather necessity in that the WM has broken and the man who sold it to us is not returning calls or texts despite another 6 months left on the warranty!
