    good point!
    i know how you feel.
my GP is nice, but i've never asked if he would charge to sign/write stuff for me,
i only see him for about 5-15 min's once a mth, he's not a mental health expert and i wasn't at my current gp practise when i did my physical injuries.
i used to have a psychiatrist and care co-ordinator a few years ao, but i stopped seeing them because they made my mental health worse!
i only saw the psych' every 2 mths and the care co-ordinator every 2 or 4 wks.
the psych' was really only cause i changed my med's, we didn't chat. i barely got to tell him anything and when i did say anything i felt i was wasting his time and patronised. i didn't listen or care.
the care co-ordinator was just as bad, probably worse! she said she would get me a psychologist and eating disorder specalist, but it never happened. she clearly knew jack-sh*t about eating disorders! when i told her things about my suicidal thoughts/hallucinations/etc she didn't listen and made me feel i wasn't that ill! she made me feel small and i swear she was always watching the clock! i used to come out of appointments, sit outside the building and cry!
that's why i just stick to seeing my gp and no mental people. not that ATOS/ESA will care about that.
  • It's really a good post.
I think the best in the world medical benefits in Singapore. People do liver transplant in singapore can save at least half of the money. Why our government can't provide such a good treatment? Taxpayers' money is spent where?

Osteoporosis effects older people as it progressive with age, a friend of mine has got it in spine and also go arthritis as well very painful in back next feet hands and neck, but employer does not recognized it and has not made adjustments as a result of this progressive condition. :o

I know this post is from a while ago but it doesn't matter if his employer recognises his condition or not. My Occupational Health hadn't a clue about my disagnosis, but that isn't the point.

If he states he is disabled, then the employer has a duty of care under the Equality Act to provide reasonable adjustments.

  • I have two in 1. Unsuitable for calling to a Medical Examination Centre and four in 2. Reference to Medical Advisor required for advice.

As for DLA I didn't get as far as a medical, they said 'No'. I had to fight for my award with outside medical evidence. As for ESA, I had to have a medical assessment and failed.

I doubt very much that the DWP take any notice of that list - they don't take any notice of their own A-Z of medical conditions either.
