Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
My daughter is a senior support worker for adults with Cerebral Palsy
in a residential unit, they have nearly all got a great range of other medical problems and most if not all have been called in to the local centre for medicals. This list is on other websites too and to be honest when my daughter and some of her work mates saw it they said atos obviously don`t take any notice of it in this area.

Also there is various degree of condition some are mild and some are more advance therefore condition like osteoporosis your bones can break without any falls if the bones are very brittle as well with arthritis this can get worse with age, it would be far worse in people over the age of 65 if they had it all their lives than a younger person say in their 30's.

You shouldn't believe everything that you read!

I am very lucky that I don't have any conditions that are within number 1

However I do have three that are within number 2, four within number 3, two within number 4 and another three which aren't even mentioned on the list!!

In my case, be it ESA or DLA, no notice was taken of the listings - I have had a face to face assessment with ATOS for both of them!!

What they put out and what they actually do, are two different things.

I failed both assessments but was given the Support Group for 3 years in respect of the ESA claim and HRM & MRC in respect of the DLA claim both at the reconsideration stage after I sent them some medical evidence that completely rubbished what ATOS said.

Due for the 3 year assessment later this year for ESA - £1 to a penny, I will fail it again with a miserable '0' points and once again will have to get some backing evidence together to show that ATOS haven't got a clue in what they report on.
Likewise being 63 I will have to be migrated to PIP when it comes in - and based on the 'new' descriptors - the whole lot is likely to go altogether. Then I will be left with having to claim Attendance Allowance instead but the mobility car will be gone!!

Not necessarily as you may have turned 65 by that time. In that case you will be outside the reassessment cohort and will therefore continue on your current award. DLA reassessment is expected to be completed by 2016!!

My neighbour has severe problems as listed on the unsuitable for calling to medical centre list, and not only was she called in, but had her benefit stopped!

I can well believe that!! It happened to me too.

No it doesn't work like that. You have to be at least 65 by April 2013. I will be 65 in June 2014. Mind you when they get round to assessing me at any time up to October 2016 I will be 67!!
